Re: Play offs watch

This season has been so ridiculous that if we did make the play-offs, we'd probably win them! Couple of key points; We should want to get promoted. The players don't deserve it, the manager doesn't deserve it, but given we've been royally bummed by our ownership issues it's what every fan should wan...

Re: If we get there will you go?

The way I see it...

If you stopped chatting up girls, just because you got turned down by a few, you'd be a virgin. Same applies for the Play-Offs - no point giving up, just got to focus on how amazing it would be if you did win/get a shag.

Re: BFTG Derby (H)

GMac had a Jimmy Kebe game. Did absolutely nothing, looked largely terrible, but also set up all of our best chances and looked our most dangerous outlet. Drenthe good in patches. Like everyone else, I desperately want to see him do well, which I think results in RTGs being worn. First half good, se...

Judging from the size of his waistline, I don't think the chip stayed on his shoulder for very long.

Re: What's to blame?

I blame Alan Pardew. Most would accept that the Southampton team that went up with us (behind us, lest we forget) after 2011/2012 were overwhelmingly reliant on the goals of Rickie Lambert. We dubbed them a "one-man team" ourselves. They probably wouldn't have gone up with Lambert, and Adk...

Re: Best NA Phrase and what he really wanted to say

1. "The field of play".
2. "playing through the thirds".
3. "Endeavour" (Why say "try" when you can endeavour"?).

Re: 'Hoofball'

Very rarely post on here anymore, but given how this is at least an attempt to discuss our tactical ineptitude properly, I'll throw my hat into the ring and invite anyone to say I'm talking bollocks. The problem is not 'hoofball' per se, it's where we start moves in the first place. Our midfield has...

Re: Elm Park Years

I remember running on the pitch at the end of a home game when Ollie Kearns had scored the winner. Feeling brave, I ran up to Ollie, slapped him on the back and said "Great goal, Ollie". To my mild horror, he actually wanted to have a conversation with me about it. "Thanks, mate, yeah...

Re: HNA approval/disapproval of NA

My beef with Adkins is: 1. We're playing boring dross disguised as "passing" (in this case, just ineffective) football. Dull, dull, dull. 2. Our record post-Adkins appointment in the Prem was actually shocking, but he got away with it because "it wasn't his team". There was no &q...

Reading is also host to the AfterDark, the only club I've never, ever seen a fight in. Something to be proud of.

Re: BFTG QPR

In that situation, could the wall be a hindrance? Maybe not from that close as it would essentially be a further away penalty, but from 25 yards out I think keepers over think walls and it would be better just to get a clear sight of the ball. Adkins out.

Re: BFTG QPR

I actually blame Assou-Ekotto for their goal. He pushed Guthrie to disrupt the wall, but didn't push him far enough to get the ball. Terrible defending from a so called left-back. I'm sort of a mish-mash of what everyone has already said. Pog superb, McCarthy excellent bar kicking, midfield good goi...

Re: Wayne Bridge pedigree

I'm going to put it out there and say that he's probably the best left-back we've ever had. I'm sure someone will claim that he's not as good as Reading FC and Newbury Town legend Steve Richardson, but he is. It's close between him and an interested Nicky Shorey for best ever, but his second Premier...

Re: Buyout

I reckon Nicky Hammond, fed up with the amount of unfair stick he gets on here by fans who don't understand what he does, has got an Arab Consortium lined up to buy the club...on condition that he is made first team manager. After spending several million on players that people have heard of from FI...

Thought Baird was very good. Does that thing of jumping too early for a header which then puts his challenger off of jumping leaving Baird to win the ball. i like that. Martin Butler remains the best 'early jumper' in Reading history, but the "Bounce of the Baird" was noticed by my little...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24205140 Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak says despite having the opportunity to leave the club in the summer he is fully focussed on helping the Royals win promotion back into the Premier League. Pogrebnyak, 29, scored his first two goals of the season on Satu...
