Re: STAR is 20 and

John Smith How do STAR intend on defending the board from a potential takeover from Club1871? I fear for the future of the club as a result of this.

I presume you mean the club board? Unless Club 1871 are paying cash I think we'll be in a good position to know!

STAR is 20 and

It's 20 years ago today that STAR was launched at the Jazz Cafe with Nicky Hammond and the Mayor as guests of honour. A lot's happened since, including our support for the 150th RFC Anniversary Exhibition at Reading Museum - now open and showing until August. Probably the best array of Reading stuff...

Fcuking hell, couldn’t even beat a school side. I hope we protested the team horse and cart. #SydenhamOUT Hold hard, mate! You’ve got 12 young lads out there making their debuts. Some have never kicked or caught a ball in anger. I tell you there’s one fella we’ve got, who’ll be in England team (onc...

Re: When will Star hold the owners to account?

Sorry, Barney, it's not as instant as you and others might like. The terms of these SD meetings are that we give the club a chance to comment on our take / report of the meeting. So all we've got for you at the moment is ... STAR had a useful and longer than usual meeting today (21 Jan 2022) with fo...

Re: Promising - the Fan Led Review

I am sure that some of the proposals will contravene FIFA's "Government interference" regulations, which could lead to England being kicked out of International Competitions, if not FIFA itself. As some Welsh teams also play in England, would that affect the Welsh FA as well? Both these c...

Re: Promising - the Fan Led Review

A very positive step and one which should be welcomed by all fans of all clubs. That isn't to say that there aren't concerns, but as always, the devil are in the details. A key thing is going to be who (I presume it will be a single person as with OFCOM etc) will be the IREF (or if it is a "bo...

Re: Promising - the Fan Led Review

Excellent news, I think, let’s hope it works out like it’s proposed. Be good to get some timescales for the various stages through to this being enacted. PS - presume the opening paragraphs should be set in 2021 Yeah, you're right. But it might come back in 2022 - just covering that possibility

NB this is a copy of what's been posted on Club Policies - but it'll be easier to find here in future. As you probably know the Review came out on 25 November and today Tracey Crouch was answering questions to the DCMS select committee today, pushing back PL complaints about some the recommendations...

CEO contributed fully in the meeting. As is usual in these meetings the FD takes the lead role as most of the questions are finance related. CEO's English is fine.

We met on 4 October and much of the discussion naturally revolved around the financial situation. You can read the notes of the meeting here: ht...
