Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Stranded

Not sure how you can ensure 23 teams all play at the same time?

You could always hope Bolton fold as well.

Awful play from Cameroon. Poor refereeing. England need to improve.

And it's a bit mean to make Jordan Nobbs stand next to Dion Dublin.

With Notts County's relegation the title of "oldest League club" passes to Forest, unless you want to believe Stoke's fantasies about forming a club in 1863 and not bothering to play any matches for five years.

When is the last time a relatively recent league club went bust? I can only think of rushden and diamonds for some reason but there must he some more. Hereford United, went bust in 2014. Darlington 2012 (the club currently with that name is not the same entity, whatever their supporters might like ...

This all looks very much like Cardiff trying to wangle out of what they owe due to the horrible circumstances that followed. Yeah, they've claimed to FIFA that the deal wasn't legally binding using some utterly feeble reasoning . Of course, I am not a lawyer and those reasons may actually turn out ...

They can and do, do it. :? never seen it (aside from Sunday league etc) Can you give me an example I could look up? Off the top of my head, no. Generic example if a player is injured and treated on one side of the pitch/leaves via stretcher they don't have to do it at the half way line. The player ...

Hi all. Remember Efe Sodje? Sports star brothers scammed donors to their children’s charity - convictions of Bright, Efe and Stephen Sodje can now be revealed following the conclusion of another separate trial. They were jailed in September 2017. Full details: https://twitter.com/NCA_UK/status/1087...

Oh, I see, thnx. Guess political ‘leanings' are not for the modern day game Suspect AFC may be a bit concerned about their brand being linked to Wal’s extreme dislike of the social changes in London over the last few decades....... Sounds more EDL /BNP than UKIP. Can't say I'm surprised either. KPO...

Watching the full replay on BBC at the moment. When Barrios head butted Henderson while they were lining up for a free kick neither of the commentators could understand why the ref didn't award a penalty. Pair of cretins.

Lawrenson thinks Portugal shouldn't have had a penalty because Ronaldo wasn't in control of the ball when he got clattered. Why do the BBC employ him?

(I don't think it was a penalty either, but that's because Ronaldo was - as usual - already on his way down when the Iranian hit him).
