Re: The Non - League thread

fingers crossed for a winnable home tie in the next round. 3rd qualifying is the furthest we've been, would be good to beat that.
Turns out I was wrong again. Winchester City got to the 4th qualifying round in 1954. Anyway, We've been drawn home to Cirencester. Dull but certainly winnable -...

Anyway, 2 up at half time. :D
Merthyr 1 - 4 Winchester City.

Fantastic result, hat trick for Ty Mitford and another £9k in the bank.

Re: The Non - League thread

I'm not expecting a lot today from Winchester City's trip to Merthyr - they have started the season well - a lot better than Frome from their league who we beat in the last round. Plus we have a stack of injuries. Apparently the pitch got a drenching on Thursday night, so possibly that will be a le...

Re: The Non - League thread

Winchester City 2 - 3 Paulton Paulton are becoming a bogey side for us. We should have been 4 up at half time, but threw away chances in front of goal, and were guilty of woeful defending at times. We really were the better side for much of the game. Bastard way to end our unbeaten start to the seas...

Re: The Non - League thread

.... and the re-shuffling commences - Andover Town have reportedly declared they will NOT be taking promotion from the Wessex Premier, citing retirements and departures from their playing squads. That's a shame - would have been a nice local derby for Winchester City. We only made it up to the SL S...

Re: The Non - League thread

Looking forward to seeing the composition of the leagues for next season in the next few weeks and just where the various lines will be drawn. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1t1mMy_ZEFaFKA4aIOSIHL-JvA6Y&ll=51.835322577676166%2C-1.0969737624999425&z=7 I don't think this is "of...

Re: The Non - League thread

Winchester City's season rather petered out. We were in and around the play offs for a long time, but we dropped too many points with late goals against us, and just weren't good enough in the end. There is a lot of goodwill towards the manager and the team though. The two local businessmen who have...

Terrible things going on at Dulwich Hamlet - yank property developer landlords have locked them out of their ground, and even tried to trademark the club's name to stop them playing as Dulwich Hamlet. https://www.facebook.com/DulwichHamletFC/ https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/savedulwichhamlet...

Round-up of yesterday's 'local' NL results: Sat 27th Jan Winchester City 2-0 Cinderford Town Had to go to work so missed this one. No-one above us, except table topping Taunton, won so this took us up into the play off positions. The game was stopped for half an hour after a Cinderford pla...

Four Of Clubs ...

... and a Hants Q-F
Winchester City 4-3 Alresford Town - City join Blackfield & Langley in the last 4

Winch always take the Hampshire Senior Cup pretty seriously. This was a big local derby, good crowd etc. Shame I couldn't make it.

Re: The Non - League thread

Decent enough 3-1 win for Winchester City today v Larkhall. We had a lot of players out injured, so even better, Should have been more for us - still lacking in incisiveness inside the final third, but a decent enough win. Crowd of 150 ish compared to 350 when our reserves played Saints U23s on Thur...

Re: The Non - League thread

Winchester City 1-1 AFC Totton – by some account this was a decent effort from the Stags who were reduced to 9 men by the hour mark. Indeed it was a decent effort from Totton. Their captain got himself sent off in the first half by giving the ref lip after he was booked for a bad tackle. Things got...

Re: The Non - League thread

2-0 win for Winchester City over Evesham United today. Scrappy first half, with two evenly matched teams cancelling each other out. One shot on target. 2nd half was altogether different. Winch made 2 substitutions 15 ish mins into the second half, and both went on to score, including our 17 yr old b...

Round-up of today's 'local' NL:- Winchester City 2-3 Bideford - City trailed twice - levelled with about 10' left but conceded again within 5'. and we missed a pen. Re: The Non - League thread

A couple of biggish non-league sides are in trouble at the moment Dulwich Hamlet http://www.dulwichhamlet.org/ I am still on their message board, having joined when they played Winch in the Trophy last season, so I've been following this with dismay. An average crowd of 1,500 is pretty impressive an...
