Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Mansfield confirm their place in L1 and will play in the 3rd tier for the first time since 2002/03.

At the other end, Forest Green suffer back to back relegations and drop out of the EFL after 7 seasons.

Colchester's home win over Grimsby all but condemns Dean Bouzanis' Sutton to relegation too.

Re: The Magic Number Thread

After tonight's results, I think it's 0 (1) now. If we want to keep it going in case of the extra 2 points then the deduction total is 2. We would be on 48 - Burton can get to 49 - so any result there on Saturday removes any modicum of concern that that deduction could impact us. Only thing t...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (h)

If the team are not on the beach this should be a comfortable 2-0 win. We will score, so just need to defend well and we should win - if we get ahead early and news filters through of Cheltenham winning, they will panic and we should be able to pick them off.

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Chesterfield, having got to 90 points after 35 games, have now picked up just 5 points in their last 10 games. Clearly massively taken the foot off the gas once it became clear they were up. Went from losing just 3 games in those first 35 to 10 now. Question is, how fair is that on other sides with...

Franchise FC
LUX Looking forward to this evening’s games.

Who have Burton and Cheltenham got ?
Does it affect our magic number ?

I'm pretty certain that Burton have Cheltenham but no idea who Cheltenham have.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

To add fuel to the Redwood Capital fire, it does look like that company are looking to put together an investment in the UK. Speculation as they may just be looking to invest in the UK generally but interesting reading… Companies House has an entity called “Red Uk Purchaser Limited” being incorpora...

Re: Weekend Football

Chelsea 4-0 up and their players still make a fool of themselves. Idiotic scenes with that penalty. Absolutely - didn't see any of them wanting to take the 100th min penalty to equalise v Utd did you? Who cares if Palmer had his hattrick already - it is his job, so unless he decides to let you have...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

In the 2. Bundesliga, twin town club Fortuna Düsseldorf are making a late impressive surge towards the promotion picture having taken 21 points from the last 9 (W6,D3). This coinciding with Hamburg's now traditional late season collapse has pushed them into 3rd place and the promotion play-off spot ...

Re: Rival Watch

rabidbee You can support Bolton against Oxford and then switch in the final. I want Bolton to go up and Derby to stay down, just for the lols.

I want Derby to go up just to see all their fans give it the full, we are back treatment then get relegated as per most Paul Warne seasons in the Championship.

Re: Looking forward to the 2024-25 season

The recruitment last summer was great, but we did have Jared Dublin in the build up. I wonder how important he was. From the outside, it looks like Bowen and Carey are more old-school in how they go about things, using relationships, reports etc., to identify targets, whereas Dublin filled in a gap...

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Given the last few years I'm not sure we should really be lolling at clubs with batshit mental owners seemingly intent on screwing the club into the ground. That said, £3 billion? Just how could a stadium cost that much unless you're using it for money laundering purposes? Clubs are always going to...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Their involvement can give them some golden years and leave them in a much better position when they finally leave, but long term I don't see how Wrexham can sustain a Championship team in the same way we can't sustain a Premier League club. Population, geography and being a "big club" do...

Re: The Magic Number Thread

We've already achieved the number of points needed to ensure that four teams finish below us. Therefore it is 0! Magic number doesn't take into account teams playing each other - it is just a simplistic guide to how close you are to achieving a goal. We know we have achieved it but for "comple...

Re: New owners' top 5 priorities

I probably should wait until a takeover is confirmed, but hopefully Dai is on his way out. In terms of how I'd like to see incoming owners go about business, I think there are several priorities to focus on: 5) Back the women's team If the men have had it bad, the women's team has been ruined. Back...

Re: Looking forward to the 2024-25 season

We will naturally lose a couple of the OOC players, as some will get tempting offers from a division above & we may need to fend off interest in Wing, Smith & Knibbs but, maybe naively, this squad seem to love working together, working for this manager and there is clearly a refound bond be...
