Re: BFTG - Boro Home

The referee's report into the red card incident would make interesting reading! IMHO the red card wasn't for Crook's initial challenge; it was because once it was clear that Southwood had the ball, Crooks, despite seeing that, continued to try to get to it and ended up sticking his foot into Southw...

Re: BFTG - QPR

It was a good game. 3-1 seemed slightly unreal, perhaps a point is ok. Swift was brilliant and all the new signings looked good. Two wtf moments were the own goal and taking Puscas off for Holmes. Perhaps Puscas will learn from the header he missed at 3-2. Obviously, the signings of Drinkwater and D...

Re: Ex Players

Antonio becomes West Ham’s all time record goalscorer in the premier league over taking di Canio With a phenomenal performance that was like a one-man Tuesday away at Stoke. It wasn't just the goals or the assists, he was winning the ball in the Leicester half at times. I presume he'll get injured ...

Re: Rumour - Josh Laurent

I think we got found out by the end of the season, and playing both Laurent and Rino as well as four other defenders left us perennially a man short on the wings and up front so I wouldn't be too disappointed to let him go. £8 million isn't enough for us to get out of Brighton though. It has to be m...

Best Player? Ejaria Worst Player? Baldock Best performance? Bournemouth (h) Worst Performance? Coventry (a) Best signing? Laurent Worst Signing? Gibson Most improved player? Olise Least improved player? Moore Best goal of the season? So many! Meite v Rotherham probably, but I hope that Morrison wins...

Re: Pauno In! Appreciation Thread

It was a good season. We played well at times, but injuries hit us hard after Christmas when we seemed to have two games every week. We do need to rethink our tactics a bit, as we had been found out by the end, but in general Pauno got the players playing well. Next season, with Aluko, Baldock, etc ...

Re: Contract situation at end of 2020/21 season.

We have a lot of players out of contract at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether the FFP rules will allow us to re-sign the likes of Southwood, Morrison and McIntyre. I make it we only have 14 senior players left currently under contract for next season: 3 years left - Puscas and...

Re: Player Of The Season 2021

Ejaria for me. Every time he got the ball lifted my spirits. But no end product and woeful attitude gotta go. :?: What do you mean by his attitude. He spent most of the last twelve months trying to weave his way magically past flying boots aimed at his ankles. What is he meant to do? Of all our pla...

Re: Support for Liam.

I was pretty shocked when I saw that on twitter last night. I mean you know that sort of thing exists and happens but to see it there so starkly and deliberately designed to offend in such a vile manner was very disturbing. I’ve no idea really what would motivate someone to do that but all I would ...

Re: Support for Liam.

Somebody created a twitter account, and apparently created a poll: if you were our manager would you have Moore as captain. The n-word was used to describe Liam and in some of the options available. I liked the clubs <insert name here> response that came through on my Facebook feed. I thought it was...

Re: Referees

Football has always been better with better referees, and that is still true with VAR. However, better referees are not necessarily going to produce more decisions that you agree with, because so many football decisions are subjective. I thought that Calvert-Lewin was brought down by Trent's thigh a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bournemouth (h)

I don't see how you can play better than that. The last 40 minutes of the first half is something to treasure and remember forever. The second half was game management at its best. The championship is the biggest league in the world without VAR, so, who knows, that might be the best football in the ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a)

I'd rather have Joao being a nob than Baldock being professional. Strikers shouldn't be nice. They should be surly if they are not getting the ball.

Poor Brentford won't have Josh da Silva for a few weeks. That is a horrendous tackle tonight v Spurs. The worst I have seen since Mings stamped on Olivera's face.

At least we can say that "these things even themselves out over the course of a season". Grrr My pet hate Why should it? Why can’t we just get crap decisions throughout the year, or not? It’s quite possible we get shit refs each game  Shit refs every game is still better than VAR th...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by as tough as it gets

That was a horrible refereeing performance. It almost makes me hope we don't go up because it was just like trying to play twelve men every week in the premiership. It's not just the big decisions, it's the drip-drip-drip of the benefit of the doubt being given to the more illustrious side every tim...

Re: Rumour - Olise to Leeds

What a difference a month makes. With Reading appearing so much on TV lately and Michael Olise playing so well in those televised games his asking price has seemingly rocketed in such a short period of time with him and Reading becoming flavour of the month. It made me wonder what sort of club he m...
