At the beginning he was a bit shit, but he was a joy to watch for his is last four years at the cub. He scored a few, set up lots, took loads of defenders with him, ...

Re: The Frank Lampard tribute thread.

fwiw, Soggy, I've read elsewhere that "touches in moves that lead to a chance" is what the proper stat chaps actually use ahead of assists nowadays. That and touches/passes in the final third.

I assume it's a mistake. Aren't they one of Fifa's lowest ranking sides?

They're black not blue.

Bhutan, Guam, Mauritania and somewhere else didn't enter.

EDIT - looking at the dots - Brunei seems likely.

Yup. I kinda rolled my eyes at the comment. It's not wrong but...

Incidentally, someone appears to have changed the colour scheme on the original map, which is all a bit gimp.

Re: Gibraltar

- Team GB came from the squad that went to the 1996, with some help by a marketing person on the trip, I think it was the drier GB&NI before then and the official name is still the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team. I think. Why couldn't they call it "Team UK" surely tha...

Re: Gibraltar

GB is simply the geographical island which England, Scotland, and Wales form part of. It annoyed me (well not really) that the Olympic team is called Team GB when there's no such legal entity as Great Britain any more since Ireland joined the Union, and part of it remains so. Great Britain used to ...

I also saw Dave Kitson mooching around the Arndale. He looked really sad. This would have been 6 months into his move to Stoke. In hindsight, I should have offered to buy him a hot chocolate.

Other than those two example, I can't think I've met any other Reading players.

Re: Meeting Reading players

Some bloke who was the exact spit of Brian McDermott walked into The Friendship in Manchester one evening. I wasn't the only one who took a double take.

A bit later, I managed to ask him and he said "I get that a lot nowadays. Never used to".

Which I liked as an answer.
