Royals and Racers
Hound if theres only 2k people, pretty sure they can spread people a lot wider than every other seat

They are only opening the lower bit.
Edit sure i read it but can’t find it now.

Getreading / Berkshire live says only the lower bit. But they're wrong - it's only the upper bit.

Re: FA cup 3rd round draw

Marine away please. Absolutely this. 2 miles from my house. Maybe round 4, then. I used to live about 400 yards away. Missed Reading Royals playing there in the 1990s (away to Everton) due to zero publicity. Reading's Under-15 schools also played there when they won the national cup in 2005 (after ...

Re: Fragments of Elm Park

Yes, it was 2003 when the "five fragments" got mentioned. I'm sure of four of them. Tilehurst End - there was a bit of brick wall left standing because the other side was something like a sub-station. South Bank towards the Tilehurst End - there was painted white wall left because it backe...

Re: Marc McNulty arrested for match fixing

From soccerbase: - Never booked for Reading. - Not booked in the Mickey Mouse league game where he supposedly attracted bets. So the evidence says he's not guilty of card-fixing. Or is there a market for "time of first card"? Then if someone else gets in first you wouldn't need to do so. O...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by no fans allowed

Seen the highlights now and I really think Miazga should have taken a proper swing at Lawrence. I mean if youre going anyway don't get sent off for a slap! Or can you get a longer ban for a better punch?! Also, it was after the game. At what point do you throw a punch/slap and not get a red? In the...

Re: Rival Watch

Royals and Racers Middlesbrough must have had a good break- 3-0 down at home to Swansea !!!

Based on closed-doors friendlies in the recent past, that start is pretty much what I'm expecting from Reading today.

Re: 25 years ago today

The referee for the game was non other than the father of England cricketer Ben Foakes. It was his last game in charge before retiring. He also shouldn't have been the referee. In the few previous years the play-off final always went to the top ranked FL referee over the season. The guy who was top...

I'm a bit puzzled. That's a BBC article and there's no Manchester United option. Are the BBC trying to pretend that they never got relegated?

Re: Ex Players

Peter Bonetti has died. What obituaries almost certainly won't mention is that he played for Reading as a teenager in the late 1950s. Peter and his brother Robert signed amateur forms for Reading. Both played for our youth team (possibly reserves as well, but not the first team). Reading really want...

Re: Old Reading Footage on VHS/film/Youtube

Several are mentioned here already but there were quite a few videos of full home games in 86-88 or thereabouts. Don't own any myself. Of away games, the only one I remember was Sheffield United away from October 1986. It was about 60 minutes.

Look fairly comfortable in 4th. Slight shame they are so far from 3rd but seems to be a solid enough season Considering who the top three are, it's puts us Best of the Rest. Man. City, Chelsea and Arsenal finish in the top three most (if not all) seasons. It was so obvious who the top 3 should be t...

Royals and Racers is no doubt surprised and pleased to see that the Reading FC ACademy Twitter is actually providing game updates. But because it's not on the standard fixture lists there's no coverage on flashscores.co.uk and the like.

It's still 2-1 to Reading as per most recent tweet.

I notice when buying tickets for this online the system doesn’t give an option for you to load the game onto your member card instead you only have options to pick them up from the ground or print them out at home. Very odd. You can load it to your card. It's just that you have to work hard to find...

Re: Thames Valley Royals

Whilst at university in 1982 I went to visit a Miss G Maxwell, who was secretary of a society I wanted to join. She was absolutely lovely. Anyway, I handed over my £1.50 and we chatted for 10 minutes about football. Only on the way down the stairs did I suddenly twig who she was. Never met her again...
