Re: MATCH THREAD: Huddersfield (A) sponsored by a Nakhi Wells goal

We have rested Hector.
He's playing in defence not midfield so he doesn't have to run around quite as much.

Re: MATCH THREAD: Huddersfield (A) sponsored by a Nakhi Wells goal

Longhorn1970 Why all the changes ? HRK injured but the others ? Has the penny finally dropped that we need fresh legs ..

Possibly to do with 2 games in 4 days / 3 games in 7 ?

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

its not just their size even, its the fact that they actively dig their studs into the pitch while a whole scrum of 16 stone blokes tries to push them backwards. Care to explain how the wear on the pitch is not the sort of wear you'd get from people 'digging in'. It's not gouges taken out or churni...

sandman An attitude that has been perfectly demonstrated in this thread by Nameless.

Nope. In what way have I , as a football fan. suggested rugby does anything that football should copy ?

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Rugby as a sport is not elitist. The arrogance of it's fans and their insistence that all sports should follow Rugby's supposedly idyllic attitudes however is ultra elitist. You'll struggle with that one ! Never heard rugby fans insisting that any other sport does anything. And you've nicely shown ...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

yeah.dead, because people have been scraping vast amounts of weight across it. im really not sure how saying theyre even heavier is helping your point. About as much as your obvious lack of any knowledge of how rugby is played is helping yours !! honestly couldn't care less how much you "know&...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

As to everyone being glad to see the back of LI, why? How do they affect most people? Other than the effect they have on the pitch (which is discussed above) they don't affect you or anyone else who doesn't want to watch the rugby. It's because football fans have to maintain an image of hating what...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

I would agree that ideally we'd alternate rugby and football weekends to spread the wear but cup draws ruin that, plus I suspect there aren't enough weekends given you can't play rugby midweek

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

30 men, all over 16 stone, trampling all over the pitch has little to do with the massive wear and tear all over the pitch. It's that Lucas Piazon you want to be worried about. its not just their size even, its the fact that they actively dig their studs into the pitch while a whole scrum of 16 sto...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

cannot believe we only charge them 0.6 million a year. ridiculously under priced. Is it? Sounds like more than the market rate to me. I seem to remember Richmond paying about 1/3rd of that. It just doesn't sound very much when you compare it to the outrageously overvalued product that is profession...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

The pitch is designed to cope with the use it gets. And the areas of worst wear are pretty obviously caused by football use. It's fair to say if the pitch was used less, and especially if there were fewer double header weekends it might help keep it better but I don't think there is much evidence t...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

John Smith Are people genuinely talking about rugby on here?

sure, some people can appreciate a wide range of sports. I understand for some a simple game like football is as much as they can handle but there are more sophisticated options

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Lol at the idea they have not strengthened ! They signed some top class players but sadly everyone else has more money so just keeps moving further ahead. There is a thought that a season in the Championship would be no bad thing as they get parachute payments and would win just about every game by ...

Re: If you could only take ONE permanently?

Would be a bit disappointed if we didn't choose to keep someone who would be a first team regular. On the last couple of games you'd have to go with Hector, if we offers Chelsea all the money in the world you'd think they might go for it .... John may be one of those players who goes off the boil on...

:| Neither of those faces seem to have any relevance ! Are you disputing we did ? im just disputing the relevance. he was 15 when we let him go, and needless to say he looked nothing like the player he is now. im saying that using that as a stick to beat the club with, or saying it reflects ...
