Re: SPECULATION: Andrey Arshavin

melonhead hard to think of many succesful russian prem players tbf

im torn between him being better than many of our players, and also not the type we need in a battle

Smertin and Zhirkov won Premiership winners medals with Chelsea and I would have called Pavyluchenko reasonably successful.

floyd__streete 94/95. The first and only time I owned a giant foam hand.

My mum and dad split up in the early 90s. Dad went off on a business trip to the states shortly after and came back with massive corporate foam hands for us. Mum exploded into a rage and burnt them.

BUT - we weren't talking 'average' attendances. :| Get with the programme Ian. So you're claiming that getting a couple of 50k - 60k attendences and still having an average of 19k is good and a sign of a massive fanbase? To me that's just a sign that you have such a shit small fanbase that the genu...

Re: These supposed riches of the EPL

It would actually make perfect sense for a football club to make zero profit over an extended period of time - any money made is put back into squad, stadium or other infrastructure. However, yeah, that don't happen.

My understanding was that our income and wage bill in the Championship were at the lower-mid-table end of the scale. your understanding was a misunderstanding was defo mid-higher end So we're still punching above our weight ... It'll come. If we keep succeeding as we have done, we will get bigger a...

Re: The Reading Way

This 'Reading Way' nonsense does my head in - we play long ball shit with no creativity and poor results. We should focus on the winning way. /deep exhale of breath We can't compete with the rest of the Championship, let alone the Premiership, if we try and match them like for like. We don't have t...

Re: What happened to the man with deep pockets?

Because it sure ain't going to be the PL with the "Reading Way"

In the last ten seasons, not including this one, we've spent 2 seasons in the Premiership, 2 of them getting promoted and three of them reaching the playoffs of the Championship.

We're doing something right.

Re: The Reading Way

I'm not convinced we are different from the norm as most clubs want to buy players that are undervalued, develop your own players and run the club on sound finacial principles. Most clubs don't. That's why there's such a gap in the market for a club, our club, to exploit. If we were mid-table like S...
