Re: BFTG (H) Brizzle

All too casual at times. As others have said, need to keep the tempo up throughout the game. Bristol were crap. I think thats most fans biggest frustration. But, I saw plenty to be optimistic about. Mannone did so well under the high Bristol press. AAH would have crumbled in that game with our back...

Re: BFTG - Fulham

If Fulham play with 10 men behind the ball, then there won't be as much space for us and it will be harder to create an opening. If we attack with 6-8 men then when Fulham counter there will be lots of space for them and it will make it look easy to create an opening. Especially with their pace. We...

A tonne of programmes - free to whoever wants them!

Hi all,

Moving away in the next few days/ weeks.

Got tonnes of programmes, starting from around 2001, which are free to whoever wants them.

Just message on here.

I'm based in Sandhurst

Re: Do we know where we're going?

Libertine Hi Gus!

Where are we going? How about Sailing the Seas of Cheese? I am thinking you would approve since they are dairy products.

And then we'll figure it out once we get to wherever we end up...

As a massive Primus fan - I'll be very happy to go to sail the seas of cheese

Re: Do we know where we're going?

A profound question I'm sure you'll agree but a pertinent one, and if I be so bold, a necessarily pertinent one...where the f**k are we going under the Chinese? At the moment the voices that speak to me are saying "Play-offs at best" and that's not what we want to hear. I would like them ...

Re: Dom Samuel

Pace, looks okay. Strength - not very much. I didn't see all of his games that he played for us last year, but he looked isolated with no creativity.

Think he's a decent finisher but didn't make many chances and didn't get many either.

Re: RUMOUR - Jon Dadi Bodvarsson

Rakels got injured in the final pre-season didn't he?

Big shame - but none- of Wolves really performed last season - and if this guy was played out of position like people said, maybe it wasn't a fair chance

I hate going for old players, but with Federici getting no playing time at Bournemouth, being a great passer and falling further down their order with Begovic - I'd love to see him back

Re: Ins and Outs – 2017/18

With the right wing back, it feels as if we need a great defender who can attack or a great attacker who can defend and Gunter is neither, in my opinion. An athlete yes - he works very hard and runs a lot, but with a ball at his feet he is hardly impressive. Most times he gets the ball, and especial...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town v Reading, Play Off Final, 29 May 2017 (Wembley)

Finding everything quite a harsh reaction to what was a boring and even game from two teams desperate to go up without the bravery and cutting edge to do it in 90 or 120 mins. Both teams finishing was poor, and even though huddersfield looked a bit more threatening - their end product was diabolical...

paultheroyal Jonathon Low in the job 10 days or so and already slagging off the fans! His coverage is shit also.

a 12,000 crowd to a technically 'rival' team, who boo even though we're third and having the best season in a long time.... I think he's got a point!

Re: Charles Watts to Arsenal

If the Chronicle decided to get their shit together it's a huge opportunity for them to steal the biggest bit of GetReading's site clicks... And therefore bring in additional revenue. Forget the Chronicle, this is our chance to attract readers to Hobnob instead. We'll take it in turns to go along t...

Clement assisted by Gibbs and Halabi

Congratulations to ex reading staff who now get to sadly and probably fall back to the championship with Swansea next season. 'His backroom staff at the Liberty Stadium will include Nigel Gibbs, who is leaving a role with Tottenham's academy to become assistant coach, and new head of physical perfor...

Re: BFTG - Norwich home

Enjoying this false position. Weren't at our best today against a side that worked us out tactically 1st half. But once again we grinded out another win and a team that can do that when not playing at their best is huge. Liam Moore is a class above 99% of other championship centre backs I've seen t...

Re: Striker PRIORITY

Watford have a handy striker, proven champ record... what's his name? Vydra or something....

But I agree. Especially now it seems we have service into the box and better wingers, a striker to finish the chances is key

£5m for Tshibola and a free for a player who's arguably got a better track record and is a bit more proven - seems that is the positive sides of 'The Reading Way'

To be fair - I couldn't really care less that he scored a goal and played well for Wales. he did the same for reading once, a while ago - I couldn't tell you when! If he could try and play like that week in and week out, then sure it'd be sad that he's leaving but he's inconsistent and spends too lo...

To be fair - now the whole old ethos and largely old members of staff are out of the club, i feel that it effectively rules out the nostalgic signings of players from the past... good or bad? Who knows

Re: Owners/board signing players - has it EVER worked?

Can't argue that Rakels has appeared better (I actually really rate him and feel as if he may score lots next year) - but neither of them were hardly successful!

I'm meaning more as clubs on the whole, as opposed to individuals

Owners/board signing players - has it EVER worked?

Excuse me if there is a similar thread elsewhere or whatever, feel free to merge BUT, are there ANY examples of teams who's owners and board have signed players for the manager where it has been a successful exercise? This for me - is more worrying than sacking a manager - even if that is a decision...
