Re: Home kit leaked

Why couldn't they take the lower two 'horizontal stripes' right round the shirt to make a complete hoop, rather a plain white back. There is still plenty of room for the player name and number above if they did.

Which players will go for wearing the collar up in an Eric Cantona stylee?

Re: Anyone else think we will lose?

I think we have to win for the longer term future of the club. There are some big (and rich) clubs coming into the Championship next season from both directions. It will be significantly harder to get promotion or a play-off spot next year and maybe several after that. The money to be had from even ...

Re: Flags @ Wembley

I will bring my Reading FC Wembley flag from the Simod Cup Final. Lovingly stored in the back of my wardrobe since 1988. It has a 100% winning record for matches I have taken it too.

Re: A weird idea

If I get a ticket for Wembley I won't wear my shirt. Surely the fact I am in the Reading end shouting 'Come on Reading' or something similar would show I am Reading supporter. If I don't get a ticket I will not wear my shirt while I watch it on my TV as everone else in my family know I am Reading su...

Re: Cardiff predictions

We play Cardiff on Friday. On Friday Cardiff fans will have to drive past Swindon - nicknamed the Robins (and some other ruder things.) = Robin Friday Voted all time legend player or something similar at both Reading and Cardiff Its a spooky omen and clearly foretells that we will win, or they will.

Re: Who's going to win the play-offs?

Mark Bright has 'a hunch for Reading' according to Mark Bright when asked who he thought would win the play-offs during whatever game he was co-commentating on yesterday.

Or maybe he said he has 'a lunch in Reading'. I was wasn't listening that intently.

Re: Leeds (A) Predictions

According to the bloke who delivered my heating oil yesterday Leeds are playing rubbish, and he should know as he is a Leeds season ticket holder. He expects us to win easily. Jonny Howson lives just round the corner from me so I will go play my trumpet outside his bedroom window all night (best che...

Re: Forest prediction thread

I've seen several predictions on here of a two nil win for Forest, and I think they will be right.

Ten quid double on that and The Midnight Club for the National (or Royal Rosa, but only cos it has Royal in the name.)

Re: It was 5 years ago today.....

It was a superb day and so fortunate to have been there to witness it. It also prompted (in my opinion) the best thread ever on Hob Nob which made reference to all the friends and family members who had been loyal Reading supporters, but never lived to see the day they dreamed of - Reading promoted ...

Their minds will be more on Manchester than Ipswich.

Ipswich 3 v 1 Reading

Church or Manset, whoever comes on as sub up front, will get a later consolation.

14 Jan 1970 v Bradford City

I only know this cos I looked it up, I have no recollection of how he scored it.

Left-footed (natch) volley at the Tilehurst End. Big crowd that night as City were managed at the time by old EP favourite Jimmy Wheeler.

But success is relative. Anyone who stood on the terraces (or sat in the stand) of Elm Park in the mid seventies, i.e. me and approximately 3,500 others, continued survival in the 'second' division is fine cos its what we aspired to as dreamland. Two years in the 'first' division against Man Utd, Li...

Bolton away approx four years back. Left with a minute to go when the score was one all to meet up with my Bolton season ticket holder friend for a lift home. Missed our two injury time goals. Left at the end of extra time versus West Ham in the League Cup?? so missed all of the penalty shoot out. F...
