The 17 Bus I always thought that ST were actually gate specific, not just stand specific.

I'm happy to use both entrances.

Re: Plastic celebs on BBCB

Dirk Gently Then we won't have to endure Chris Tarrant telling us how he remembers "going and watching the Biscuit Boys" (sic) like we had yesterday.

Was he really. What a bandwagon-jumping tosser.

If not ticketed they should be.

These twats were driving across the pavements onto the dual carriageway after the game. Very dangerous behaviour.

Re: Ironing the new home shirt?

Forbury Lion If a blast of Tom Hark is the price to pay for us getting a goal I'd be more than happy to hear it five or six times a game.

But it isn't, is it?

Rich@Eaststand Yes - get rid of of it.

I've always hated it. A goal goes in, people start to celebrate and then stop in order to wave their arms up and down in time to a crappy tune.

Plastic football at it's worst.

Spot on, sir.

frimleygreen_shotspur i thought your best to date at your "new" ground" was a freindly...or was:)

It is. 1900 were in attendance when Aldershot visited Waterside Park to open Thatcham's new ground in 1992.

It remains a club record to this day.

Jerry St Clair I cycle from the station. It takes a shade under 15 mins.

By far the easiest from of transport. I'm back at the station and on the 17.12 train to Newbury after most 3pm games.

LOL @ taking a bike on a train.

Also, on the travel news front - the M6 is being dug up and resurfaced from junction 8 (M5) down to 6 (A38 - Villa Park junction) - I think they're still on the southbound side at the moment but the whole of the east side of the city's in chaos because of it so allow additional travel time coming u...

Reading v Wolves when our winning record came to an end, dont think I ever saw a bigger crowd at elm park, the police had a restriction of 13,000. and thats what the announcer gave at the time, but its my guess it was at least double that. Mike Lewis is on record as saying it was indeed much higher...

Re: Record Attendance

If you think about it, that was back in 1927, when Elm Park was a different place, I don't think they even had proper stands all round the football pitch. I'm sure I saw a picture in the Pictorial History of RFC that showed the massive crowd. No, the ground was substantially the same. The Main Stan...

I cannot believe that many people got into Elm Park. I've been in a 16k and that seemed packed solid. Same here. I think some of those attendance figures must have been fixed. I don't actually doubt the figures. Why would the club make them artificially high? They'd round them down, if anything, to...

And its guaranteed that at least half of that time it'll be raining. Wear and tear on raincoat? Nope. I've cycled for two years and can only recall it raining three times. And only one of those resulted in a drenching (Crewe). Travelling by bus/car for short distances like 2.5 miles is ridiculous, ...
