Re: How impressed are you with BMcD's return to the club?

I have never been impressed with McDermott, I have always thought he was lucky to get promoted last time and that showed, as we got relegated at first time of asking. Sir John and his cronies are holding the club back, they should leave the new owners to spend their money how they want. Whilst I ag...

Re: McDermott Sacked (AGAIN)

If the majority of people on here can take their personal love for McD out of the equation then there is no reason why this can't be a positive move and step forward for the club rather than a step back like the one the club took in bringing him back in the first place.

Re: Newcastle (A) 2016/2017

December 2006 was the best away day ever (sort of) even though we lost. midweek, 2000 of us there iirc. No, best away day ever was Nottingham Forest 2011 Incorrect, that goes to West Ham 2-4 Reading. Spin off thread :?:   I was at both of those and its pretty close, probably my two fav...

its a good point, well made. it just means Im not confronted with the sheer scale of my time wasting every time I look at my post count. obvs don't care what anyone else thinks Haha tbf I can see your reasoning but I wouldn't worry about it too much fella, no one really cares so neither should you....

Re: Reading's (current) longest serving player?

Is Obita also the longest serving since initial first team appearance? Edit: no, just checked, it appears to be Gunter by this criteria. Obita's first appearance was the 6-0 slaughtering at the hands of Peterborough. Have to tell you that you're wrong there and it is Obita. His first appearance cam...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I think in terms of looks the 106 home kit of 2005/06 was the best of the Puma era along with the follow up kit for the first Premier League season in 2006/07. Two of the worst were the 2008/09 kit and the second title winning season kit of 2012/12, both of which had white shorts. I think it was mai...

Re: Reading's (current) longest serving player?

It's Obita. His first pro deal was in 2010, so 6 years service. Worth mentioning that until recently it was HRK, who was a pro with us for 9 years . I know he's been shite but he is still technically a professional. and still plays for us?? I know the OP is counting years as a youth player ...

Re: Hal Robson-Kanu, Anton Ferdinand and Simon Cox to leave Reading FC

Robson-Kanu has been alright, not a lot more, not a lot less. At times he's looked like he was ready to fulfill the potential he undoubtedly has but for too long he's flattered to deceive (he's by no means alone in that respect though). As for being loyal, the only thing I can see him being loyal t...

Did you lose all ability to read yesterday brendy? That's clearly not what IR was saying. I knew it was brendy, can tell by the writing style and the fact he is a McDermott bum dweller. How many more accounts are you going to make on here you loser, haven't you got like 6 already?  ...

Re: Why Daniel Carriço, Vydra, Glen Murray, Antonio, Benik Afobe better players then what they showed at Reading

Vydra has struggled since he had a couple of good seasons with Watford You mean he's struggled since he joined us. We signed him off the back of a pretty good season for him, 16 goals without being a first choice in the Watford side that gained promotion. To be fair he struggled at West Brom but th...

Re: Nick Blackman

Turns out we sold him at the right time and got a good price, wouldn't want him back.

This is more evidence that the club is being bled dry though because whenever we make a £1m+ sale, its like it never even happened.

Re: Victor Anichibe - Free Agent

He's only ever played in the Premier League so his experience could be valuable, could tear up the Championship as well with the right team around him. Last player we had that people were confidently predicting would tear up the Championship was Pog. So... I'm out. Sorry but I was never foolish eno...

Re: How impressed are you with BMcD's return to the club?

its daft to randomly say our lack of success over that period is his fault. its also daft to say hes the equal of mosts/many championship RBs, while calling for him to be sold so we could get another would who could grow to that level. its daft even if we had unlimited budget and didn't have way mo...

Re: How impressed are you with BMcD's return to the club?

Earlier within one of the thousands of "I love Brian" posts from Top Flight he referred to Gunter as a decent Championship full-back. IIRC we paid something like £2,000,000 to sign a Premier League full-back and most of us seem to feel that we, Spurs and Forest all thought this player was...

Re: Victor Anichibe - Free Agent

In his best season he managed just six goals - no thanks While I want to say that doesn't paint the whole picture, as a ratio for that season isn't bad, there's a reason he's Everton's most used substitute player. I reckon he'd be worth a punt, ftr, as its a drop down, he's not awful and he'd offer...

Re: Strangely optimistic about next season.

I was watching the Brighton game last night and thought what a gr8 job Hughton has done there. A set of average players finishing in 3rd. Shame BM couldn't do that at Reading or at least climb the table with probably a better squad on paper. I know its been said that the squad mentally ended its se...

Re: Strangely optimistic about next season.

I rarely post on the Team board nowadays because, as someone who had a conscious uncoupling to the club a while ago, I felt that I couldn't add to the debate about what was wrong, what needed to be done etc etc. Until today. I don't claim to be in the know and what I'm about to write will, no doubt...

To me and to the silent majority. It is only you that wants Brian out Longhorn. You, the Chelsea fan and Royally Fcuked up. The rest of us are blindly loyal members of the "We Love Brian!" fan club. Brian is hugely respected and revered by all of us fanboys. And we make up 99.32% of Readi...
