Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Looking at the Championship promotion picture, I think Southampton are back in play. If Southampton win their two games in hand on Ipswich and Leeds, it would be: Ipswich - Pld 43 - Pts 89 Leicester - Pld 42 - Pts 88 Leeds - Pld 43 - Pts 87 Southampton - Pld 43 - Pts 87 I believe Leicester's game in...

Re: Blackpool H

Based on my current estimates, we've sold around 11,400 for this. Based on typical trends we're on track for a home turnout of 17,200. With Blackpool increasingly looking like they'll be in the play-off picture come the final day, they may bring more than they otherwise would. Perhaps over 18,000 t...

Rotherham United

Staying in League One (7/17)
Bristol Rovers
Charlton Athletic
Exeter City
Leyton Orient

Wycombe Wanderers

Promoted from League Two (2/4)

Wrexham

Re: New owners' top 5 priorities

4) Improve matchday experience Bring back programmes, involve local suppliers, get rid of Compass and their appalling food. Think of initiatives to make matchday more enjoyable and bring fans back. In addition to this point, I'd say basic stadium maintenance should be included in that list. Things ...

Re: £397K on agents fee

So doing the calculations. We spent £17,295 on agent fees this season, which is the third highest per transaction in League One. New signings will probably have the highest agent fees attached to them - so that would be a reason. The mean average in League One was £10,739, with the median at £10,426...

Re: £397K on agents fee

There's a spreadsheet on Twitter somewhere and basically every player move, in & out and loans have an agent's fee, even the likes on Bouzanis going to a L2 side on loan. Even more strange is the list appears to be in chronological order. Bouzanis was initially loaned in the summer, with an ext...

Re: £397K on agents fee

Presumably when Ejaria’s contract was paid up there would also have been an agent’s fee? He's not on the list interestingly, despite appearing to have an agent. The transactions we made were: ⋅ Puscas, George (Permanent transfer out) ⋅ Maragh, Geneiro (New registration) ⋅&n...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

Er... Good question. Closest I can find is 2010/11, but Hunt only got 9 in 4th, so missed it by one goal. Ditto 2009/10 but Long in 4th on 9. It's 2005/6 Kitson 22, Doyle 19, Lita 15, Sidwell 10 Also one goal shy for Taylor in 4th in 94/95. So only second time since at least 1993/94 and the other w...

Re: The Magic Number Thread

From Despair To Where? Burton can catch us.

Yeah.

Both Burton and Cheltenham can catch us.
Both need maximum points.
As they play each other, at least one will drop points.
This means Carlisle; Fleetwood; Port Vale and one of Burton or Cheltenham cannot catch us.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

Barnsley had a strong 2nd half. Pretty even on balance. Looking forward to the highlights. Now that Wing has scored his 10th, do that mean we've had 4 players score over 10 goals in a season? For the first time since..... Snowball or someone, please verify?! 2005-06. Kitson 22 (18 league); Doyle 19...

Re: The Magic Number Thread

Snowflake Royal 0 (2).

Vale can no longer catch us. Cheltenham or Burton could, but not both, because they play each other.

This. Just spent about twenty minutes explaining this to someone.

They eventually got why I kept bringing that Cheltenham-Burton game into the equation.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

Looks like Mukairu and Abrefa in for Ehib and Yiadom respectively. No Yids on the bench, but John Ryan appears for the first time. I’m fairly certain he’s a full back, but can’t remember if he’s a left-back or right-back. I think the former. John Ryan has 2 good feet so can play either full back po...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

We've played Barnsley a few times recently so maybe not one of the more attractive away days on the calendar, anybody know how many tickets sold? Where's Clyde? :D Around 750 (last night, before tickets went off sale at 12:00 today), plus tickets available on the day  Wouldn’t be surprised if...

Re: £397K on agents fee

Looking at the list of players who’s agents we paid a fee to this season, it includes George Puscas. There were 23 separate instances of us paying an agent (an average of £17,300 per transaction). Additionally whilst we paid the second highest agent fees ( link ), Fleetwood, Blackpool and Wigan are ...

Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

For me, the most positive thing to come out of this season is the re-connection between the fans and the people on the pitch. We all know that you can't expect to see your team every single match, we do however expect to see effort and commitment from the players, and we're getting that now after w...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

The Athletic estimates their revenue will hit c. £20m this season due to the US presence and sponsors that the TV series has generated. That's a mid table Championship budget. If they can hit those sort of levels, promotion from L1 is definitely achievable, but probably beyond them next season give...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

But why wouldn't you just go to Stockport or Tranmere? Not Welsh teams. Wrexham has a large catchment area. Wrexham itself is a small town though, and there isn't that large a population who don't have loyalties to bigger clubs. Wrexham's highest average ever is 11600, and their crowds do seem to d...

Re: Away followings

Looking at the top three, it would not be surprising if all of those are playing in the Championship next year so, depending on who comes down, we could well be even higher placed. I expect we'd put up a better showing than Rotherham. Sheff Wed and Brum would likely do better, but some of the other...
