Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

For me, the most positive thing to come out of this season is the re-connection between the fans and the people on the pitch. We all know that you can't expect to see your team every single match, we do however expect to see effort and commitment from the players, and we're getting that now after w...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

The Athletic estimates their revenue will hit c. £20m this season due to the US presence and sponsors that the TV series has generated. That's a mid table Championship budget. If they can hit those sort of levels, promotion from L1 is definitely achievable, but probably beyond them next season give...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

But why wouldn't you just go to Stockport or Tranmere? Not Welsh teams. Wrexham has a large catchment area. Wrexham itself is a small town though, and there isn't that large a population who don't have loyalties to bigger clubs. Wrexham's highest average ever is 11600, and their crowds do seem to d...

Re: Away followings

Looking at the top three, it would not be surprising if all of those are playing in the Championship next year so, depending on who comes down, we could well be even higher placed. I expect we'd put up a better showing than Rotherham. Sheff Wed and Brum would likely do better, but some of the other...

Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

Benchmark for me are the Portsmouth and Bolton away games. What did they have over us, to turn us over so emphatically. Style of play? Fast wide players? Quality of player in certain positions? Match off against that with what we have now and we would be just fine, if we can find that type of playe...

Re: Away followings

No confirmation on Bristol Rovers numbers but with 700 fans expected at Barnsley and 1700 at Burton, it's fair to assume we'll have averaged 1200 fans an away game. That's must be at least 30% more than last season which is a great effort. May have some new grounds in there and more local trips but...

Re: The Non - League thread

The FA have decided that the Slough v Bath match that was abandoned following a medical emergency in the crowd will not be replayed and the score of 4-2 to Slough will stand. It appears that the FA are laying the blame fully at Bath’s door for the match not re-starting on the day. Good decision. Ba...

Royals and Racers 2-0

The stats look incredibly one-sided. Seems very little chance Peterborough won't win this game now.

Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

We're not having to rebuild the core of the team for next season (ie. Smith, Wing, Knibbs, Bindon, Mbengue, Yiadom, etc. are all under contract) - so it's possible (perhaps likely) we'll have a stronger squad with more depth next season. I think it's unlikely we'll be promoted next season, but at th...

Re: The 24/25 Season of Optimism Thread

Really need to keep this squad relatively untouched, it can only be a positive outcome. But have to be cautious, the takeover isn`t over the line yet, I wouldn`t put anything past Dai at this point. I agree though, the standard of most teams in this league has been piss poor , there`s nothing to st...

Now estimating 623 sold. A very steady stream of tickets are still being sold - now around 660. That's more than they brought down to us Yeah, they took 569 to us and your comment is going to lead me down a rabbit hole of how many fans have we taken to teams compared to how many they brought to us....

Re: Season Tickets 24/25

It'd be a brave (or extremely expensive) lender that would take on sales for a club in our financial predicament when you consider that if we go bust or into administration it's the credit company that has the contract with (and so the liability to) STHs, but would only be a teeny tiny creditor wit...

Can’t easily do the maths in my head, but (as it stands) would that be five points to mathematical safety?

Re: Season Tickets 24/25

No finance option available. Does seem odd, albeit I think it was only last season I found out finance was even an option. I imagine if you contact the club, as you'd like have to anyway to arrange for it, they'd give you details on that. It'd be a brave (or extremely expensive) lender that would t...

Basically he just followed the ball, which no referee should do, that`s why you have assistants. I always though refs ran from the left-back position to left-back position, with the linesmen running down the flank of the right-back position to maximise how much of the game each can see. https://enc...

Clyde1998 Around 550 sold now. Block NS3 has now opened, with NS2 being almost sold out (note the bottom section of the stand appears to be unavailable for purchase at this stage).

Now estimating 623 sold.
A very steady stream of tickets are still being sold - now around 660.
