Re: MATCHWATCH: Royals v Cardiff - BCD Hogwood

Clean sheet, so looks like we've solved the defensive issues 2goals so the attack is fine. Got to be looking top 6 on the basis of that result, especially as we weren't even at full strength. Worrying for Cardiff though. We disagreed earlier on in my HNA? career as you would, but truthfully, since ...

Re: Summer Rebuild 2016/2017

Forget getting cover for right back, Watson looks capable as back up. Keown and Dickie will also be alright as back up if both Gunter and Watson are unavailable. Gunter looked rubbish tonight but that's probably because he joined the squad late after Euro 2016. We need a left back though however be...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bournemouth (h) sponsored by preseason apathy

other than a scoring chance for them But you obviously saw the goalkeeping "shortfall" tho' That was there only effort that I saw - came in a few minutes before their goal. Didn't pay much attention to the second half but when I did we looked bereft of attacking threat, guilty of playing ...

FFS I just renewed my Reading player to watch it... though I suppose I would have done it anyway.

I only came in quite late but from what I saw we were the better side although didn't create anything clear cut.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bournemouth (h) sponsored by preseason apathy

0-1 Bournemouth.

Al-habsi is bollocks at 1 on 1s as he showed many times last season, always goes down/wrong side too early and makes it too easy for the attacker.

Beerens looks a real handful - a lot of skills and trickery to evade challenges and get into good positions.

If the reports of the clubs we beat to his signature is true then this is good news. Knows he will have a better of shot of playing here and is obviously hungry.

Re: Loan Watch 2016/17

Longy has always impressed me when I've watched him. Hopefully he'll do well at Cambridge and next summer push for a place in the first team. Not good enough at Swindon, looked completely out his depth against a poor L1 outfit. L2/L1 the highest level for him. Was pretty shit when I saw him...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Says 1978 :| I'm not even 40 on my next birthday. (True) and that b'day on here is incorrect. It says Age: 38 on your profile. And he said nearly 40, not 40. Like I say - that bday is incorrect. Kes, no offence... but do you have any friends? Like in real life? Just wondering - not trying to be a d...

Re: Rumour - Rafael van der Vaart

Leaving aside fitness issues, I really don't see where Rafa vdV would fit in Stam's preferred 4-3-3 formation. If we were playing 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1, then maybe, with Rafa behind the striker, but in a 4-3-3? Nah. It doesn't have to be a flat, and formations are never or should never be as rigid as ...

Re: Rumour - Rafael van der Vaart

For me, if it's sensible wages, then its a no brainer. Regardless of how far he's fallen he still oozes talent and I can only imagine he would be a fantastic person to have in the squad. None of our lot would have really played with someone of his caliber and he could teach so much. I think we've g...

Away kit reminds of me of Huddersfield's last season.

I quite like them. Will get the away one with what I said before when VDV signs.

Re: Rumour - Rafael van der Vaart

I am very excited at the prospect of our rivals being envious and Van der Vaart turning in even a few appearances for the mighty hoops. It's a shame Stam calls out VDV's history of injuries; that's hardly going to sway the bean counters decision. It is and it isn't. I really like the fact that we s...
