Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

There are 26 teams in Premier League 2. Assuming that flashscore is right, Reading have the best home record with 23 points from 9 games. We also have the worst away record, 4 points from 7 games (could get off bottom spot by winning an away game in hand, but that doesn't seem likely). The even odde...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

On the podcast Howe seems to think that the Parliamentary boundary changes will affect how councils look at planning applications. Is he is as clueless as that on every other property topic?

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Hull v Wolves second attempt is on Sunday 17 December.

For context, Wolves are near the top of the third tier and Hull at the top of the fourth tier (both regionalised).

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

I couldn't see any mention of the records broken by last night's win; if there is a thread somewhere, please re-direct this post. 1. This was Reading biggest ever away victory. 2. This is the biggest ever victory in the EFL Cup since its inception in 1984 3. It is Reading's biggest win in 122 years...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (h)

There's been one in the league cup (I'm sure many will remember that pathetic showing from last season) and four in the FA Cup. Stevenage, though, have a much better record in Reading in those games than Reading having won twice to Reading's sole victory in an FA Cup 3rd round replay. It's the othe...

Re: Ince out!

Had Gurnam Singh got the 1995 Division 1 play-off final (as the tribunal decision effectively said he should have done) then we might talk about him a lot more. There is the Gill family of referees but as they're based in Slough you wouldn't really expect to see them officiating Reading league games...

And for some context, Burnley are 7 points behind us after 31 games. If they win their next 6, they will still be 2 points behind schedule.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

From Despair To Where? Chelsea manager Emma Hayes says she's in favour of a "closed" WSL.

Granted its beginning to get that way but, well, she can fcuk off.

Perhaps she could start by getting rid of those clubs that can't fulfil a fixture when the temperature drops.

Berks & Bucks FA County Cup Adult Rules 2022-23 - Rule 16 (K) (i): If a match as originally drawn is postponed on two occasions, the Management Committee may order the match to be played on the opposing Clubs ground. So this rule applies for all 6 county cups. I think it makes more sense for som...

According to the official site, it's a 300-mile round-trip. So that's a lot shorter than in previous years.

Looks like Monday's U21 game v Colchester has been moved. Colchester are playing a different (cup?) fixture on Tuesday of next week, whilst flashscore now shows our game as set for 27 April.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

This is probably the right thread to record that a Reading team lost 4-2 to West Ham Under-21s on Friday at Bearwood. Seems an odd day to have chosen.

Team included Jahmari Clarke, Liam Moore and Nahum Melvin-Lambert.

Going back to Cowdenbeath, did the person originally copying that one miss out something about "in one word"?

Because Wycombe Wanderers and Cambridge United also both have each of a, b, c, d and e.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (a)

Mr Angry Can anyone remember who the Reading keeper was who tripped up the gobby Luton Town mascot all those Years ago, when said mascot was giving it large to the Reading fans behind the goal?

I think it might have been Phil Whitehead.......

Scott Howie (reserve keeper on the night).
