Internationals coming up

Just seen the Portugal and Scotland squads announced and no Joao and McIntyre involved. Good for us with the Barnsley game straight after the break but unfortunate for the players, saw an interview with Joao somewhere recently saying he was hoping for a call up But Lindon Dykes gets a call up for Sc...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a)

Christ we have missed Meite. You just wonder how the season may have gone without the key injuries we have had. Just get Swift fit now and the playoff place should be secure. Then if we can go into them with a fit squad we have a chance. The original diagnosis for Swift was 8 weeks and he was injur...

Re: Rival Watch

Late winner from Watford against Cardiff. A good result for us. We have too much to do for top two. Just need to keep ahead of Muff and Cardiff. Yes - Barnsley have the best run in so its those two we need to stay ahead of. Bournemouth have Swansea in midweek, but don't play at the weekend for some...

And Gibson, but Ejaria and Rino both miss out but makes sense not to rush them back as muscle injuries

Re: Rival Watch

To add balance, we've had plenty of pens this season; some wasted sadly. I reckon its going to Brentford or Watford for second, neither of whom I'd fancy us against in a two legged play-off semi. Swansea I would fancy us against though, so its important we get at least 5th place and for that we need...

Re: Veljko Paunović - Whelmgauge

Whether whelmed or not whelmed, VP is now more or less nailed on to be the first Reading manager since 2016/17 to survive a complete season. In fact he’ll be only the second Reading manager to achieve that distinction in the last 7 seasons  Didn't someone else manage us in the Colchester leagu...

Re: Rival Watch

Interestingly last night Derby went much more direct than usual to counter Barnsley's high press....might be something for us to think about in a couple of weeks

WestYorksRoyal Derby are not a bad side these days. When are they due at the Madejski? Will be a tougher match than the opening day.

Re: Rival Watch

Big game tonight with Barnsley playing their game in hand at home to Derby. I'm hoping Rooney takes this game more seriously than at Cardiff last week when he made 8 changes and they lost 0-4; hopefully the fact they also lost on Sat, and are back on the fringes of the relegation scene means they wi...

tidus_mi2 Has anyone seen the penalty, was it nailed on or another soft one?

It will be stonewall according to Cooper, as all the others have been

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a)

They are already turning into Brighton old boys, Murray, Knockhart and Bong, none of whom are anywhere near the players they were a few years ago.

They will set up defensively, aware of our forward threat

Re: Rival Watch

I think the issue with the penalty for Colin is the ref, who was quite close to it, originally gave a corner before deferring to the linesman. It was a very soft penalty though, and not the first given to Steve "son of a referee" Cooper's side this week, let alone this season. Don't like ...

Re: Next 10 games

If we make the playoffs, Brentford are the team I fear the most and are the best team on their day. Swansea are really nothing special and I'd back us to beat them with a full strength team. Quite a bold statement considering we`ve not beaten the Swans in 14 meetings since 2008. (D6 L8) This, and t...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (h)

WestYorksRoyal That foul for the penalty really was stupid. Puscas had a good chance, but not as good as a penalty and it also ensured they played with 10 men. Basically killed the game.

Yes agree, was on his weaker foot too and there was another defender coming across.

Re: Next 10 games

Not sure if this is necessarily the correct thread to raise this, but does anyone actually genuinely think we’ll be promoted this season? This may be to do with not going to games, but personally I’m finding it really hard to get excited and just can’t see us going up. Neither can I being honest bu...
