Re: Coldest away end in Football

I think the coldest match I've ever been to was a 2-1 away win at Derby about 5 years ago. Shane Long scored both of our goals that day if I remember correctly. The fan's coaches didn't even make it due to the snow being so bad on the M40, so there was probably about 100 of us in the away end shiver...

Re: Man CitHEHEHE

Suggestion in the pub was that managers get a video ref call. One per game, where footage can possibly be reviewed. Looks fine in principle, probably full of holes. They've started doing this in NHL this season. Whilst I do agree that decisions are called correctly, it does make scoring a goal feel...

Re: Meeting Footballers

Ran Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand from the entrance of Wilmslow station to the platform where we were holding their London train because they were late arriving. Sir Alex wasn't best pleased.

Love ice hockey, went to a live game for the first time a couple of weeks ago in Cardiff. Even more exciting game than football IMO.

Catching the 1031 from Bristol, but I'm not entirely sure why.

Those tracks and signals don't maintain themselves m8. Although I think when Crossrail goes live there will be later trains.

Re: How excited are you?

Not at all. I find the idea of us being tonked at Wembley again to be pretty uninspiring.

Re: Group Save Train Tickets (move if necessary but importan

Seems odd to have sold the Groupsave, then abandoned them, but still be selling them on line. Obviously not all 30,000 were ever going to be travelling by train anyway just can't get my head round the railways not doing what they are supposed to be there for because 'it's not worth it'. Not blaming...

Re: Group Save Train Tickets (move if necessary but importan

TBM
Wizard Costs about £25k to run a train,

:|

We don't mean build new ones, just use ones that are already around....

There aren't any spare ones around though. And a new train costs ~£1m per carriage.

Re: Group Save Train Tickets (move if necessary but importan

Logic would suggest that you'd put more trains on. Simple shuttle ones Reading -> Padders and back. Maybe even football specials with just fans on. Why can't they do that? Lack of trains, cost and pathing. Costs about £25k to run a train, and then you need to fit it into the already intensive servi...

Re: Group Save Train Tickets (move if necessary but importan

Pretty standard practice to stop issuing groupsave tickets when there is a major event on and encourage people to drive. It isn't just a football thing. There aren't enough trains to accommodate 30000 extra passengers so it makes sense to try and spread out the flow across different modes of transpo...

I've decided that it's too expensive, but I have plenty of points so will be giving my potential ticket to my m8's Liverpool supporting wife.
