Hall of Fame Sun 21 March 7.30pm

It's the 2020 show at last. STAR's Reading FC Hall of Fame 2020 was postponed almost a year ago due to the pandemic and there hasn't been a suitable opportunity to do it as a live event at the Madstad since. So, instead, it's going to be an online event that all supporters can reach, for free, via R...

Re: Sustain the Game!

What's the plan for a European Super League? Is it that the big clubs in each country piss off and start their own European-wide league? Or will they carry on playing domestically too? If the former i'm actually up for it. I'd happily watch the Prem again if the top 4-6 clubs naffed off. If the lat...

Re: Sustain the Game!

"An unpopular, illegitimate, & dangerous scheme in the eyes of the overwhelming majority of fans.” In an unprecedented move, fans’ groups from across Europe have issued a joint statement in opposition to a European Super League. There is a hugely supported petition condemning the idea of th...

Re: 150th Anniversary Thread - 2021/22

At the risk of being a bit too detailed on this: It would be very strange for a club formed in Feb 1871 to wait until Feb 1872 to play its first match especially as there were a few clubs already in the vicinity. There's no entry in the FA Annual of July 1871 for RFC but there is in the July 1872 ed...

Re: 150th Anniversary Thread - 2021/22

As we were founded on Christmas Day 1871, I take it our Boxing Day match next year will be the big 150th anniversary game. Hopefully it will be a better spectacle than the travesty that was the 2-1 home defeat to Burton on our 500th Madejski Stadium game celebration. There's no actual evidence to s...

Re: We will iFollow the Reading on laptop and TV

Green If they're keen to maximise the response rate, why the short window to reply?

Mixed messages from the FSA there.

Seems they're not really fussed on reading feedback, just on having ammo to go chest thumping with.

Sorry, dunno re short window. Key thing is to respond to survey!

This from Football Supporters Association: There's been much discussion on the topic of streaming, and our survey into the performance of iFollow (and clubs' own streaming platforms) has now launched. More details here. It's imperative that to be taken seriously by the EFL the survey needs the bigge...

Re: Fragments of Elm Park

Oh what I'd give for just one more afternoon on the Southbank :( I know. Especially on a wet Saturday afternoon, muddy, greasy top, rain hissing down on to the pitch, drips coming through the roof, crazy crazy people standing on the Tilehurst End regardless, away fans suffering the chant of ' you'r...

Is there actually a way to get it on the TV other than with an HDMI from a laptop? This is the only thing putting me off paying the £10 This is the most comprehensive guide we've seen. https://www.cambridgefansunited.org/blog/cfu-guide-to-improving-your-ifollow-experience I only skimmed it and didn...

Re: Pauno at STAR Fans Forum 11 November

STAR threatened to kill our families if we said anything. I don’t recall that! The event was open to the public in a groundbreaking move. Our first virtual fans forum went smoothly with over 100 fans tuning in. Pauno was greeted in Serbo-Croat by a loyal royal and spoke eloquently for an hour. The ...

Remembrance Sunday 2020

In a necessarily limited way STAR has been able to honour the annual occasion of Remebrance. "102 years ago the nation was beginning to haul itself back to normal. 75 years ago, once again, the nation was emerging from another world wide conflict. Like most clubs in the country here at Reading ...

Re: Fragments of Elm Park

Yes, it was 2003 when the "five fragments" got mentioned. I'm sure of four of them. Tilehurst End - there was a bit of brick wall left standing because the other side was something like a sub-station. South Bank towards the Tilehurst End - there was painted white wall left because it back...

tidus_mi2 Ever since this was announced we have lost both games, coincidence? I think not!

Pauno upsetting all the traditions - back in the day of Burns and Pardew the manager typically pulled out a good result or two before the Fans Forum .... to the point we considered having the FF every fortnight!

Fragments of Elm Park

Quite a while back (2003 possibly) it was said that there were five fragments of Elm Park still standing. I think I can remember two of them - a vertical blue wooden strip at the Town End on Norfolk Rd, the rear wall of the away toilets. Anyone help with any more or know if they are still there. Ask...
