Royal Lady His backside is neary as big as mine for a start :| When I say "diet" I don't mean that he should go on one, but that what he eats and drinks may not be conducive to the ripped body of a professional footballer. #justsayin

not sure there is any footballer on a contract that stipul8s what food they can eat

What they can't eat would make a smaller contract.

He does not want to play under Adkins

Adkins does not seem too bothered about playing him (He was an Anton signing).

If we do get a new owner I can only see him moving on

3points Think you may be right Ian. If we can't move him on, then we should embrace him and nurture his natural talent. Get him match fit and work on his end product / decision making. If McCleary is sold in the summer and with Jobi gone, he's then competing with HRK, Obita and Blackman (possibly Jake Taylor as a right midfielder) for the wide berths.

Drenthe is left footed isnt he? Jobi wasnt and constantly had to cut in, but who else is who can play there?

Obita - probably best to keep him left back now he is getting comfortable there
Blackman - possibly, but could be our new left footed striker if Pog goes

Not sure about anyone else as a left footer ... maybe they could look to try and bring Nana Owusu through, awesome against Fulham as a left back. Looked even more comfortable in that role than Obita.

Personally I'd like to see Drenthe stay but only if he can consistently do the magic that he is capable of, otherwise he is an expensive option that sadly we need to do without.

HRK ca n play on the left wing too. I expect to see a proper left back brought in over the summer allowing Obita to play further forward and be the first choice winger

If Shaw gets prised away from Southampton over the summer, then they will be looking at the likes of our Jordan to replace him.

Obita looked like a class left back in the making - more so than left winger. Keep him there!

I, perhaps foolishly, still dream that Drenthe can be our left winger. He's played left back in his career too so the Obita/Drenthe side can be successful, as of course can the Gunter/McLeary side. The midfield looks great on paper if it stays- and stays fit. All we need is some pace up front!

You can't move him on unless he's out of contract - it's not like people have been queuing up to buy him in the last transfer window, for example.

Basically, it would appear AZ shafted the club in spending big bucks on wages etc for Pog and Drenthe and then disappeared. Unless someone really wants him, we've got him until his contract runs out and then he'll go on a free so we won't even recoup any money.

You're right that we can't just move him on without a buyer (or paying off his contract which would make very little sense) but there may be more interest in him over a summer window as opposed to winter though.

If there is no one interested in signing him and/or he doesn't want to move on himself, then the only way we could get shot would be if he committed a misdemeanor sufficiently serious enough for us to be able to terminate his contract on the grounds of gross misconduct.

Surely eating all the pies could be deemed gross misconduct.

Totally agree along with if we can't move him on then we should just try and get the best out of him!

Royal Lady 1. Wouldn't bother me as I work for Schards
2. I'm not employed as a professional sportsperson.

I'd prefer Obita to stay at LB. He wouldn't have got POS playing on the wing IMO.
