Shane Long - New Contract

by LoyalRoyalFan » 04 Nov 2010 18:33

I for one am pleased that Shane and the club have decided to renew his contract.

No negativity on this thread.

Push on Shane and show us that you can score.

Hope this is the impetus needed to start scoring the goals he needs.

Good. Despite the abuse he's taken from some, he is still easily good enough to play at this level. Hopefully soon he'll have someone to play off though.

Another good piece of work by the club in removing any speculation on his future as the season goes on meaning he can just concentrate on maintaining his decent level of performance and just add the missing goals.

Pleased by this news despite the bashing he gets on here.Like BmD says hes still only young and is still learning.I have faith in shane long and i think he will be hitting the onion bag sooner rather the later.

Should've ditched this clown and given Rasiak a new contract, at least he'd have scored some goals.

That picture of Shane signing his new contract on the OS also shows SJM rubbing his hands together and laughing.

Bearing in mind we have very few quality options up front then this is good news, but to be brutally honest, Long is not a very good striker, yet he's somehow key here at the moment.

McDermott has shown alot of faith in Long, now he needs to start repaying that with goals and not just work-rate.

Great to see Shane has signed a new contract.

Great that Gylfi signed a new contract too in April.

Its good for the lad, we have to remember he is still only 23 and has done incredibly well since he came here as a very raw talent. Under McD he will learn and mature, goals ? give him a break they will come.

Yeah cos Rasiak wanted to play here didnt he, lazy fecker. And he was banging goals in left right and centre. But not headers as he could not bother jumping.
