Oh when the Saints go marching in - prediction thread

What's not to be excited about? 20,000+ crowd, 4,000 away fans will make for a good atmosphere. Chance to sleep off the inevitable Saturday morning hangover and time for hair of the dog beforehand.

Remind me of this optimism when I am sneaking out with us 0-3 down with 10 mins to go 8)

Draw.

Hate Southampton. Hope they go up though, just so that they get battered next season. Rubbish club. Garbage town. Awful place.

I think this will be a high scoring game, but Saints will edge it 3-2.

1-2 loss.

Pearce to score a consolation between 60th and 80th minute.

Gees us up and we go on another 5+ unbeaten run after that, with a couple of braces of wins on the bounce before the next loss.

Saints are far from a one man team, but I must say one man scares me, Ricky Lambert. My mate supports Rochdale and pointed him out to me years ago, as such I've kept an on eye on him as he's progressed through the leagues scoring goals at every level. I just can't see us keeping him quiet!

On the other hand we've got ALF who is every bit the '1 in 2' striker we wanted. His eye for goal helped us to our 2-2 draw with Derby and I hope he stays on form for the visit of the Saints.

My prediction......

Reading 2 - 1 So'ton
ALF x 2,
Lambert

*ps I normally hate games being shifted for TV, but I must say I'm looking forward to this one being under the floodlights. It definitely adds a little something to the atmosphere!

A full away end usually means a party atmosphere for the away fans, we always bottle it. I expect to see 4,500 joyful southampton fans partying and taunting us about how much of a shit club we are when we are trickling out to " now you're gonna believe us, the saints are going up" with 5 minutes to go.

Hate these type of games because 90% of the time the away end is loud and deafening with away end celebrations. 400-500 is meh, when its 4,500 away fans going bonkers in your ground after a goal...it gets incredibly infuriating.

I do hope you're not our sports psychologist - apparently there's no point us even turning up on Saturday

Saints bubble burst 2-0. Followed by our bubble burst with two successive defeats.

And for the 7th game in a row, you guessed it, I am very predictably predicting 1-1.

1-0. Le Fondre to score from a penalty. We storm up the league to 10th in position for a good playoff push.
