Well played Harte, although tbf Mills has improved recently, although he does still hoof it forward too much. Hopefully Harte can get a good run in the team now and have more competition between himself and Mills.

One which was from a set piece (nothing new) and another which was a deflected shot, Mills probably wouldn't have changed much defensively

We were also apparently a bit more open at the back.

Not doubting Harte's obvious contribution with his set-pieces, but I don't think he's the long term option.

Saying that, more than happy with him tonight :D

Love it. Just defies belief the shit Harte has got.

Form is temporary, class in permanent.

Not been able to listen or attend today so I'm just regurgitating what I heard on SSN so I am not aware of our general play at the back. Agreed its prob not the long term option but having a weapon like IH left foot is pleasing. Although if these ..... http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=110298 rumours are true then, freekick and corner problems are solved!

delighted for Ian Harte today, honestly cant believe he had to wait for mills to get injured to return to the team! yes mills has been improving of late but you cant take Ian Harte's 10+ goals a season out of the team along with his assists. Regardless if some of those goals are pens. Another experienced head at the back very much needed.

Well done to him, but these point scoring attempts are rather premature. One game on his return due to injury does not re-write history to prevent him having been very poor at the start of the season (defensively and with set pieces).

Nor does it mean he will solve all our problems or continue to play well over the next however many games he's in the team.

Should we really be relying on an ageing left back taking set pieces for our goals? Of course not.

He's an excellent player to have competing with Mills for the left back spot, certainly as back up. Mills is the future though.

Good to see some positives from Hartes performance, more to the point is just how much Mills can learn from him.

I dont think Ian's post is actually that bad, clearly in the long term we don't want to stick with Ian Harte as he's old enough as it is. I do however think something had to change at the moment and its worked today. Lets see how it goes in the next few games and give Harte a chance to prove if his forms changed from earlier in the season.
