Snowball So if this is Church being "bad" and yet Le Fondre is only a tiny percentage better
and Hunt is almost 100% WORSE, why is Church being singled out for so much abuse?

Because he's not as good as the other two. Has that not been raised yet?

You are saying I can’t make a negative judgement about Church because of what the stats indicate.

I’m saying your stats are feeble.

Snowball
THEREFORE, people slamming Church are in denial of the facts
and are judging him on extremely fallible subjective grounds
and that the criticism is unfair and poorly-founded.

You are in denial of the facts. You can't have it both ways Snowball.

Friday's Legacy has said his goals/appearances ratio is poor and has produced stats to back that up. Just because you choose to use a different criteria doesn't mean what he has stated is wrong.

It's flawed of course but then we've been trying to tell you since day 1 that stats aren't the be-all and end-all when it comes to judging players and there are flaws in your goals/mins as a measurement too.

The real dissapointment with church is when there's a 50:50 to go for, you just know he won't win it.
Sometimes the ball's in the air, and he's favourite to win the header, but mostly the defender gets it. He makes every defender look like Maldini!
Other forwards give defenders a hard time, or get fouled a lot to win free kicks etc. Church does nothing. It's probably his shitness that has lead to his goals. Defenders start to relax and he eventually gets lucky.
Still, that goal he scored against sheff wed a few years ago was top quality, wish i could see one or two more

Le Fondre and Church are strikers and expected to score a certain amount of goals.
If anything Church is the workhorse (more running, less goals) and Alf was bought to do the penalty-box chance taker.

So we should expect Le Fondre to be out-scoring Church based solely on their expected roles.

But Church 5-4 Le Fondre when they play together. Hmmmm.

WRONG

If you actually watched the games Church and ALF played together then you'll have noticed how ALF was playing behind Church, in the 'Sigurdsson' role, and hence wasn't getting the opportunities to be a penalty box striker.

Nice try W-R, but I never said a dickie-bird about HOW they PLAYED, in the games, just about EXPECTATIONS.

It's not a nice try, it's a perfect illustration of how flawed some of your stats are.

I'm not being a c/nt, but when I heard Church wanted to follow in the footsteps of Gary Speed, I was dissapointed to discover he meant captain Wales.
