Yes but I don't understand why we've not signed him yet - could it have something to do with the 93 day length of the loan?

Maybe because Pog is back and they don't want to upset the apple cart? I think the way Adkins sees it is we've got, in his opinion, four very capable front men in Le Fondre, Pog, Blackman and HRK.

Gylfi and Sharp are arguing over who the same squad number hence the snag. Watch this space.

Lambert, Sharp, Connolly, Lallana, Do Prado. And then he signed Rodriguez and Ramirez when they got promoted.

I don't know what Adkins is thinking, but I am pretty sure it isn't 'I have four very capable front men'.

One isn't a striker, one just broke a goal drought stretching to January, another just scored his first goal from open play since the same month.

It's pretty clear from what he's said that we don't have as much upfront as he'd like.

As I understand it, we sign him on Friday he is then available to play for us on loan until just after Christmas. We can then sign him permanently for c£1.2M and he is ours from just before the New Year.

This all depends on Cortese who is being awkward over the deal.

...yeah - i get all that.

But what happens if we sign him today? Will the 93 day loan period cover the Christmas and New Year period?

I think we all agree that time "goes a bit funny" in that period and it's hard to remember what day of the week it is.

Are you suggesting we might sign Sharp tomorrow? What is the benefit of signing him tomorrow, how will that affect the end of his loan period?

It won't affect the end of the loan period other than the fact it will take us to Dec 29th which is the last game before the transfer window re-opens. It will affect the fact he can play on Saturday. Benefit at start and finish.
