Given that the idea of this poll is to 'nail your colours to the mast' at this early stage, a sitting on the fence option would be counter-productive.

Might I suggest that if you don't want to choose a particular side you don't vote.

Arch
Ian Royal How can we possibly know at this stage?

Ticking most of the right boxes. But then even Pompey's various owners didn't exactly come in saying "yeah, basically we're here to look like we're laundering money and couldn't give a rats arse what happens to the club".

It's an opinion poll, it's not a request for knowledge.

How can you go one way based on two limited statements, without teh deal definitely going ahead or knowing for sure who it is doing the buying?

Obviously we all want it to be great. Essentially this is just a poll in blind optimism or pessimism though, we all know as much as each other and anything is guess work, so there's no kudos for going either way whatever happens.

You're overthinking it, Ian. Do you think it will be good or bad. I think it will be good, but I may be wrong. You clearly have no opinion one way or other other. Say so and leave it at that. Don't try to suggest that there's something objectively wrong with having a feeling about it one way or the other.

I oxf*rd hope it's outawesomestanding. But I'm not going to say it'll be good or bad now and claim to have been some sort of prophet in two years time when it's plain hope. There's absolutely zero reason to think it'll be bad right now. But it could be.

Anyhoo, just explaining my point of view when challenged. Shan't say any more.

Make that 3.

Got a problem with that? This is a democracy and we should respect each others' opinions.
This investment will end up being the ruin of RFC.

Franchise FC Where's the Unsure/Don't Know/Wait and See option

Deliberately didn't put it in.

Where's the option for "Don't know because don't have enough information yet?"

A little wee came out when i read the initial thread thinking someone is on a glorious wind up that is not Kes orientated.
It is something we knew was on the cards, something we all wanted to happen before Mother Hubbard starved. Grin, smile, laugh and embrace it.

I like the fact the SLM likes the words prudent and diligent.

Wimb Based on what we know now. Good

This. Only time will tell.

I would not want my old club to go daft like so many clubs who've had new rich people investing but if it's done with continued prudence and good governance (as so far indicated by our admirable Chairman) then it will definitely be great for the club.

I might even go to a few games again.

Most successful takeovers occur where the buyer leaves pretty much everything he's bought exactly as it is. The buyer then spends time learning about the business, the people, how they interact and their strengths and weaknesses. Only once a thorough learning curve has been traversed does the successful buyer start to make changes, keeping the things that are strong and working, and weeding out and replacing weaknesses, be they persnnel or practices.

From the little we can glean from the press, this would seem to be exactly the process TSI will be following. Mr Mad will realise he is only a figurehead from March 2012 onwards, and will have no say in change if the 51% shareholder decides to change things. It would seem then that Mr Mad trusts these people implicitly to "do the right thing", and he will doubtless be asked his opinion on any major changes that are proposed. However, that will all it will be - his opinion. He won't be able to veto any business decision.

We must assume that the new shareholder will have a good degree of patience, and will understand that ROme wasn;t built in a day. If this is the case, then we should be able to look forward to a period of relative stability but with an upwardly mobile outlook. Frankly, that would work for me, so yes the takeover as present would appear to be a good thing.
