Obita to Barnet - Loan

Good to see him get some first team football. I would have prefered to see him go to a better side to be honest but hopefully he'll put in a few good performances and earn a better loan in League 1 before the season's out.

Great move for the lad, will hopefully get a few games under his belt. And he's gone into a team who have picked up some form of late. Seems we have a good relationship with Barnet too.

Do Arsenal still use Underhill for their reserve matches? I would have through Arsenal could have helped Barnet more with youth loans. Perhaps they do, they're just not that good, I don't know.

For youth players? I never mentioned reserve players. Youth, as in hundreds of pounds per week players. As Barnet and Arsenal have a relationship in place it wouldn't hurt Arsenal to allow young players to gain some experience in League 2 on a free loan even.

I dont think Arsenal do that though as they like to get their youth players learning "their style" - then once a player reaches the reserves they are then shipped out on loan to gain match experience.

with jobi and kebe injured leaving us with only antonio and hrk, could leave us a little short if we get another injury.

If only we'd signed someone yesterday who could play wide at this level.

Besides i suspect now Kebe's signed his new deal he'll be fit for tomorrow.

The Polish lad can play either wing as well.

And Sheppard can play right side too.

Good to see Obita going out and getting some games anyway, hope he does well for them.

With the lack of competitiveness in Reserve team football this is exactly the right kind of move for Obita.

He needs to play in games that matter and against players who are playing for their careers so that we can see how good he might turn out to be. We seem to be doing alright with Barnet so it would seem like we've got a pretty good relationship with them as well so my hunch would be that he'll see quite a bit of first team action.

Excellent news, i've been wanting him to be loaned out for a while to give him some experience and we can see if he'll turn out to be the real deal or just talk.

He was easily the most impressive of all our wingers in pre-season but no opportunities given subsequently.

Going to Barnet will be better than many people think as he will be in a side scrapping for points and having to cope with a fair amount of pressure at the same time. I would be expecting him to stand out somewhat at that level though.

Barnet developed Puncheon and Adomah. It'll be interesting to see how Obita does, particularly as Barnet are having one of their better seasons this year.

A lot of that seems to be down to Reading player Michael Hector and ex Reading players Clovis Kamdjo and Jack Saville. Who needs a b team eh?

Maybe Jordan will be the man to see the free scoring goal machine in motion?
