Avoid The Play Offs

by Percy's Rocket » 15 Feb 2012 04:36

OK Team

This is what to do

1) Avoid defeat at West Ham , Saints and Brum - 3 points

2) Win the last seven home games - 21 points

3) Win four of the other 6 away games - 12 points

TOTAL 87 points..that should just about do it.

4) Hope that two of the three teams in 1) go on a bad run and get less than 30 points in 15 games.

sympathise with the reasoning, Percy. I am still marked by that Swansea game (er, and Bolton and Walsall, that's 11 goals conceded in three finals :| ). Could I put my son through that again, against Cardiff, say?

OTOH, wtf am I on about? We are regularly sniffing around at the top of the Championship, winning at Derby and Leeds etc. It's great.

West Ham are the class act in this division but, even without a ream of snowstats, they surely can't sustain their form if they keep getting players sent off
Southampton surely flatter to decieve
Time seems to be catching up with Brum
While the Royals just kep rolling on, unnoticed by anyone (including many of our fans)

Top 1 or nothing!

I've always quite liked that about our team- it's a pretty good way to be, avoid hype keep under the radar.

We have what seems by far the toughest fixtures still to play out of the top six, which in a way could benefit us. Plenty of six pointers!

cardiff are due their annual collapse. i can see blackpool wobbling with one or two injuries. i don't see us getting the points listed above, but in all honesty, we didn't think the play-offs were likely this season so i will take that and run.

Southampton look classy at times. I saw nearly all of the West Ham-Millwall game and their football was poor - HOOOOF! They were very lucky to win (blatant foul on keeper). They have got new players settling in though and Vaz Te should do well.

As my Saints supporting friend said to me yesterday "You lot are creeping up quietly aint ya" which is exactly how I like it. Forget about what other teams are doing we have no control over that, just concentrate on getting our own results right. I personally think we'll finish second this season which would do nicely.

Second Toughest. West ham have TEN tough games out of 16, and IMO might well not end up champions

I've posted al the tough fixtures in "This Season Last Season" and Saints have a MUCH easier finish than WHU

PS I WANT Birmingham to fade and Saints not to recover, but they are both quality sides.

I think we could have 5 clubs still capable of winning the Championship going into the last game

They have 8 games against rivals

SEVEN of them are at home. They could do a lot of damage.

If we get to Wembley again, I'm not going.

Not going for a hat-trick of Wembley disappointments.

Sacrifice I'm prepared to make for my beloved team.
