The official Portugal 2012 thread - Sponsored by Nando's

by Big Foot » 17 Jul 2012 01:34

Guessing the squad to go to Portugal will be announced either tomorrow or Wednesday at the very latest. Looking forward to hopefully a good game on Saturday and will see about posting up a match report on here and a couple of photos.

Anyone else who's going, feel free to use for match reports etc - no STAR style hidden secrets in my gang, not even the small print. I promise.

Hunt definitely, Shorey looks like a lucky heather seller and Gorkss looks like he'd tarmac your drive for £5k whether you asked him to or not.

FULL access to minutes of any dialogue with the players will be available for an annual subscription of £10. PM for more details.

Have just got round to typing up the minutes from Croatia/Slovenia 2010, they are as follows:

Matt Mills - "bet you boys are having a good time on the beer"
Us - "yes, £1.10 a pint"
MM - "really? we found somewhere for 90p a pint last night"

Us - "Give the hot dog to Brian Howard the fat bastard"
MM - "He looks massive but he's one of the fittest in the squad and will run all day"
Us - "Give it to Kebe then"
Kebe - "I can't eat a hot dog, I'm Muslim"
Us - "lolz"

Don't forget to renew this year's subscription folks but shhhhhhhh - they is watching us

EXTRAS available including the hilarious look on Gzergorz Rasiak's face as he came over to present a Reading shirt to the 33 Reading fans watching us get beat by NK Celje; only to be greeted by half a dozen lashed up lads charging towards him in euphoria

THE SQUAD

Goalkeepers: Adam Federici, Alex McCarthy, Mikkel Andersen, Jonathan Henly.
Defenders: Shaun Cummings, Chris Gunter, Ian Harte, Nicky Shorey, Kaspars Gorkss, Alex Pearce, Adrian Mariappa, Sean Morrison.
Midfielders: Jem Karacan, Mikele Leigertwood, Brynjar Gunnarsson, Danny Guthrie, Jay Tabb, Jobi McAnuff, Jimmy Kebe, Garath McCleary, Hal Robson-Kanu, Michail Antonio, Jordan Obita.
Forwards: Noel Hunt, Jason Roberts, Adam Le Fondre, Simon Church, Pavel Pogrebnyak.

Notable inclusions I guess are Pog who'll be in a Reading shirt for the first time. Henly and Obita as the youngsters. Antonio given a chance. And Bryn.
Notable omissions are only really the likes of Taylor, D'Ath along with Sheppard and Williams and Hector who could have made it. They'll be playing the likes of Basingstoke, Salisbury and Hendon back home
