Rochdale, No large fan base, never been higher than Div 1, but they keep striving to do it right! Also, in the days of British Kit Cars, The Rochdale Olympic used a 3-speed Ford Anglia engine and was made of fibreglass. I once went over a hump-back bridge in a friend's Olympic and we took off. Happy Days!

Dagenham & Redbridge, just 'cos I managed them on Championship Manager 2004 and have liked them since.

Bought my first footy shirt at Edelston's in Caversham in 1967. It was green and white hoops because I was mesmerised by Bobby Lennox and the Lisbon Lions. One Nobber may well remember the shirt.

My missus is from Greenock and introduced me to the Jungle where she was regular, and so the Bhoys would be my team if RFC no longer existed.

VVV Venlo in Holland. I was born there.
Brentford. Moved there when I was 1.

Probably no one. I had no interest in football (with the exception of infrequent England matches) until I started supporting Reading.

How long have you supported Reading, m8?

I'd probably go back to Spurs. Or City for the glory.

MouldyRoyal Doubt I'd support anyone to be honest (other than England).

I was never into football at all other than watching the occasional international on the telly, but then I accidentally got into supporting Reading which turned me into a football fan in general. But if I hadn't started supporting Reading (being my local team) I doubt I would have started supporting one further afield.

Much the same for me, with no Reading I wouldn't be into football.

Initially I used to say I supported Reading as a kid because I was from Reading and so were my parents and that made sense, My Dad used to go regularly when he was younger to Elm Park. My first game was in 1987 aged 11 and it was thanks to free tickets being given out at my younger brothers school. Reading v Gillingham, 2-0 (I think), goals by Senior and Horrix.
In the 90's, in work and aged 18/19 with money in my pocket I went to a few more games with guys from work, then I got hooked and got my first season ticket during the Pardew era at the Mad Stad.

It shows the importance of Reading FC community work at school level as your investing in fans of the future and you get to make it all back and more when they become buying customers, plus fans acting as advocates bringing non footy fans/others along to games.

liamobey Aston Villa

I thought they were the biggest bunch of big-time-charlie bell-ends going.

I mean, singing about "empty seats" at the Madejski, when there were perhaps 500 empty, compared to 5000 typically going spare at Villa Park.

I'd probably just increase the number of random matches I do.

Depends really.

My dad has no interest in football, but from where his family is from and where i was born - either Charlton or more locally Welling United.
My brothers support Arsenal and Wet Sham respectively.
I had a soft spot for Liverpool as a kid coz my m8s supported them.
I went to uni in Hull so keep an eye for them.
The missus and family are diehard Brentford fans.

Royal Ginger Yateley Town. Pre-match warm up is a fag and a jumper.

Other than that it'd probably be Bournemouth for geographical reasons.

YTFC don't exist anymore. They've merged with YGFC to become YUFC.

FAO those who went to school in the general Reading area:
What sort of proportion of your fellow youngsters supported Reading as their main team?
Please give some indication of how recently you were at school.

Just curious.
Never lived in Berkshire, and went to school in North Hampshire, only a few minutes from the Berkshire border.
Despite Reading being the nearest decent team (Absolutely nobody supported Aldershit), only 2 others in my year were regular Reading fans, and a few in the year above.
The 2 others in my year weren't even Reading fans when I met them, plolastics!

Brentford. Love the riverside pubs before and after game.

Miss playing them, but probably next season....

Quite like the idea of Dulwich Hamlet, becoming a regular down at Champion Hill.

Realistically I wouldn't want to spend every other Saturday watching football though so it's never going to happen.

Used to get the piss taken out of me a lot by my glory hunting m8s

To answer the op I would obviously support my local team, along with pea and hrhers. As it is I absolutely love it when we beat them.
