Nearing November with still no contract signed despite the club giving Morrison another four years, hoping to see it tied up soon because the longer he's out of the team the less he'll be likely to sign.

Must be feeling a bit ratty considering he played well when in the side and Gorkks has been less than impressive.

Wolves? I heard Wigan. Interesting.
Must be to do with his step-cousin living in Sicily?

No. Brian just seems to have forgotton he's the best centre back we have. Poor Brian is making a few mistakes lately.

I'd put him back in the team in place of Mariappa. I don't see him doing much more than Kaspars, but at least Gorkss is good in the air.

Mariappa is a star. Composed on the ball, smart on the intercept. Take him out and we'll get caught out with pace every attack.

Do not understand why our biggest aerial threat (Pearce) has been suddenly dropped. Gorkks is good for all his experience but will not develop any further as a player. Pearce on the other hand I'm pretty sure was once being compared to the young John Terry of ten years ago. Its obvious to everyone he has future captain potential. Do not see what Gorkks brings to the team that Pearce doesn't.

He looks a bit ropey to me, but given the league we're in I think we're better off with him in than out. I'd far rather have Pearce than Gorkss though. Better organiser, more careful distributer, stronger in the air and a real threat from corners.

A left foot! It's important to have someone who is comfortable playing as the left-side central defender

Gorkss made Pearce the player he is. We looked weak at the back last year, until Gorkss arrived. Pearce has learnt so much from him and improved loads. For me it's one or the other with Mariappa, as he's a bit quicker. I think McD's made the right choice for now.

If these rumours about his contract/dropping are true then I think it is a bit short-sighted by the club. Sidwell expressed a wish to leave but still gave 100% to Reading so would Pearce be different? I can't see why he hasn't at least been given a game as we are shipping goals whoever plays at centre back. Surely the aim is to finish the season without being relegated?
