Didn't go to the game today, but after reading these posts I am a bit embarrassed over how some 'fans' acted!

All I am saying is that these eggs that call themselves fans weren't there causing trouble at away games when we were in the champ!! CouPLASTICSgh

SPARTA Harte was woeful.

Why does this not surprise me, even at this level?

Any team that does two minutes of homework sees our Achilles chasm.

It seems Crawley only took 10seconds to figure it out with an attack down our left side I understand?

A left back is quite possibly our biggest priority I am beginning to feel. It doesnt matter how good you are if youre not there to do your job, except for perhaps a CB and keeper. We need a pacey left back. We cannot have the embarrassment if putting kebe on the left to cover for a statue of a left back, or the idiocy of keeping nothing but ageing left backs as our only options.

Remember when Matt Robinson coming in changed our fortunes overnight? New left back immediately please Brian.

I have to agree 100%. Both our current LB's are short and slow. We need one with either pace or height. Would Büttner be an unrealistic loan move??

urz13 I was on the left side of the terrace and all was good natured and focused on the football. Such a shame to see that even in the modern age there is still a (very) small minority of idiots who still feel that causing trouble is a necessity and don't come to support the team.

Good performance in the end though:

Feds - 6
Cummings - 6 should have had definite pen/FK
Pearce - 7 sign him up
Morrison - 6 passing off
Harte - 5 not his best
McCleary - 8 not a fan but excellent today. Still can't cross for shit
Karacan - 7 good
Tabb - 7 good to have him back in the side
HRK - 8 worked really hard
ALF - 8 MOTM and could've had a hattrick on several occasions
Hunt - 7 works really well with any striking partner

Guthrie - 6 some classy passes, some shocking passes
Gunter - 5 no time to do anything

Quick mention of the linesman who was absolutely useless and seemed to have had one to many lies over the festive period.

Alf, hunt and McCleary were the only ones worthy of an 8 if they were being handed out
And it's good to see a winger beat his man to the line and pull the ball back for the striker.
Mccleary may not be David Beckham when it come to crossing(who is) but he more often than not attacks and beats his man and puts the ball into the danger area for the striker to attack. The more game time the better he will get and for me he is potentially the best winger we have, pace, quick feet and can go either way.
Alf needs to get more game time also but pog is def worthy of a start for the next game as he will have more confidence now. Karacan was also good and feds kept us from going under before we went ahead

Two things learnt from this game, Crawley need someone who can finish and Reading will struggle to stay in the Premier League. Result was just about right but 3-1 flattered the Royals. Good luck for the rest of the season and if we get a forward look forward to seeing you in the championship (I hope)

I remember the first year we were in the premier league walking out from the man united game, a bunch of our fans were giving some mouth to one of the united coaches. When the coach stopped and people started getting out they ran away. Seems our trouble makers are selective about who they are willing to stand up against.

Racist abuse is unnaceptable however the asian steward was a right idiot and did look like a replica of Abu Hamza so I can see why the idea of racial abuse came into some of the morons heads. He should think twice about stewarding a football match with that sort of facial hair as it gives the right wing extremist element a quick and easy insult once they've added 4 pints of Stella to the racialist blood that flows through thier veins.

Barney Incredible.

On hobnob, some posters slag off the fans for following 'family friendly' RFC. Then the SAME posters slag off the fans for being a bit laddish and having a few beers.

Let me spell it out for you. Particularly for those posters that don't attend many games. Primarily, RFC has turned itself into predominantly a 'family' club. BUT...there is, and always will be, an element of both older ( circa 1970s) and newer 'lads' that follow Reading.
No different from most/all Prem clubs and most/all towns or cities with a quarter of a million residents.

It happens. It will ALWAYS happen. Reading is a big town. A lot of older and younger 'lads' follow Reading. No different from the majority of other clubs
that are either in the Prem or have a town/city size similar to Reading.

For those that think otherwise, you are living in a land of make believe.

Aldershot away. Ler's have it.

As in so many areas of life a small minority can cause trouble for the majority.

No doubt this racism will be reported in the press, and RFC will be tarred along with all the other clubs that have been.

I hope these cretins are named and shamed and given at least a 3 year ban from every football match.

I haven't seen any trouble from fans (home or away) for years and that's the way I'd like it to stay.

oxf*rd.

LOL

There's being "a bit laddish and having a few beers" - and there's being a pathetic should know better bloke, who thinks it's big to swear, threaten to hit people, shout racist or other abuse. In the main, we have a great bunch of fans - I've been a little worse for wear and been on away trips singing and enjoying myself, but I've NEVER seen anything of the like that has been reported from yesterday and I hope I never do. Do they not realise people just laugh at them and think they're puerile? I've yet to meet ANYONE who thinks these type of "fan" are great.
