I was on the left side of the terrace and all was good natured and focused on the football. Such a shame to see that even in the modern age there is still a (very) small minority of idiots who still feel that causing trouble is a necessity and don't come to support the team.

Good performance in the end though:

Feds - 6
Cummings - 6 should have had definite pen/FK
Pearce - 7 sign him up
Morrison - 6 passing off
Harte - 5 not his best
McCleary - 8 not a fan but excellent today. Still can't cross for shit
Karacan - 7 good
Tabb - 7 good to have him back in the side
HRK - 8 worked really hard
ALF - 8 MOTM and could've had a hattrick on several occasions
Hunt - 7 works really well with any striking partner

Guthrie - 6 some classy passes, some shocking passes
Gunter - 5 no time to do anything

Quick mention of the linesman who was absolutely useless and seemed to have had one to many lies over the festive period.

paultheroyal A minority of our fans were a disgrace today. Made me so angry. Such snippets include...

Racist shouting at the steward (despite him carry out his duties)
Hillsborough / Liverpool chanting when trying to get into the ground
Calling Guthrie a oxf*rd when warming up
Young lad ugwu warming up to the shouts of "who the oxf*rd are you"
And then to top it off... Ripping up the advertising hoarding and chucking it into your own fans. Hitting a gentleman square on the forehead and cutting him. Total mongs and yes I know some of you are nobbers!
Fans getting kicked out at a club like Crawley - embarrassing. Might of even been scrapping amongst ourselves.

Oh no, forgot, it was for the LOLS! (accept its the minority but bloody hell your embarrassing and grown men too)

As for the game, apart from the first 15 mins I thought we did ok and job done!

Aldershot next please!

Looked like more than just scrapping.

Think a few of them got a little over-excited after that.

Just incredible it all went on with young kids around.

Disgrace. I saw this all the way from Basingstoke on the trian to Southampton, when we played them away in the Championship. The train driver announcing so many times for the 'fooball supporters to stop harassing the passengers', got to Southampton central and riot police and dogs escorting the 'hard core' Reading fans away from the City centre. What we were told by the police was that a certain few were physically assaulting passengers, who had nothing to do with football, and one sexual assault. If I had of seen that, I'd of knocked their teeth down their throat. Then, getting into Yates bar, the oxf*rd pricks at the front confronting everyone walking past, the riot police and dogs turned up again and them intimidating them, trying to get them to react to us...for what? Pricks. Made my blood boil. This is the first time in my whole life going to games, home or away, where I have been embarrassed by the idiots following our club. Obviously the result was one of the best ever..but those many moments earlier tarred our club.

^ and the OB were castigated by many on here for doing a meet and greet at Reading Station later that night

Took a long time for the reasons behind it to come out, but TY ARS

No doubt, we are not unique, but we are not normally known for our hardcore element either.

Let's all stand up at the next match in honour of these pricks.

I remember being 14-21 and seeing his shit happen and accepting it as just one of those things. Just do not understand it now and makes my blood boil. I nearly got thrown out of the Tottenham game for remonstrating with the obnoxious little prick sat two row in front.

Royal91 The support today was both awesome and an absolute oxf*rd disgrace!

Firstly I hope the guy who had his forehead cut is fine. Because that was just disgusting!

If CERTAIN Reading fans want this billy big bollocks reputation why don't you step up against a big boy team and not pointless teams like Crawley.

Calling a small club like Crawley "pointless" is a perfect example of a billy big bollocks attitude

Erm, care to clarify what you mean there? I'm not aware that I've ever posted anything that could justify that remark.

Or are you just being a dick as usual?

I enjoyed myself but that probably had something to do with being near the goal on the left side, and not over in the corner where the sh1t was going on. I couldn't see what happened, bar the stewards ejecting the first bloke, and it was ridiculous how many were needed just to restrain him - pathetic behaviour from an individual and an embarassment he made it so difficult for the stewards who seemed to put up with a lot. Bad way for some of "us" to treat a welcoming club.

There was some good banter near the end with a ginger teen/preteen in front of me which he took in great spirit. You can have "lols" without it getting nasty. Shame that minorities spoil great days out for majorities.

Incredible.

On hobnob, some posters slag off the fans for following 'family friendly' RFC. Then the SAME posters slag off the fans for being a bit laddish and having a few beers.

Let me spell it out for you. Particularly for those posters that don't attend many games. Primarily, RFC has turned itself into predominantly a 'family' club. BUT...there is, and always will be, an element of both older ( circa 1970s) and newer 'lads' that follow Reading.
No different from most/all Prem clubs and most/all towns or cities with a quarter of a million residents.

It happens. It will ALWAYS happen. Reading is a big town. A lot of older and younger 'lads' follow Reading. No different from the majority of other clubs
that are either in the Prem or have a town/city size similar to Reading.

For those that think otherwise, you are living in a land of make believe.

Aldershot away. Ler's have it.

Back to the football for a moment if I may, as I was working and unable to attend, where did Gunter fit in today? Was it a straight swap with McCleary on the wing?

Good pissed post Barney. I'm not sure what to say to it really. Frankly, I'm all for a bit of love in these days tho. I'm quite glad the days of the 70's are gone tbh. I've done my fair share of shitting myself in away ends and I'm quite happy that I can go to football these days, have a beer, and come home in one piece..

I'm still waiting for Avon Royal's reply which is making me simmer a bit.
