Karacan has to start. Carrico would be too much of a risk though would love to see it. Guthrie has been pretty good since coming back, I thought? Tabb to make the three, McCleary and Jobi on the wings, pog up top.

GK - Federici
RB - Gunter
LB - Shorey
CB - Pearce
CB - Mariappa
RM - Kebe
LM - McAnuff
CDM - Carrico
CM - Karacan
AM - Guthrie
ST - Pogrebnyak

Think that's what it'll be and wouldn't be too put off with that, ideally see McCleary in for McAnuff but i just can't see it. Also am hoping Shorey returns but to be fair i think he will

Federici,
Gunter, Pearce, Mariappa, Shorey (Harte was the worst player against Crawley, waiting for a tweet from Harte),
Karacan, Carrico > Hope > Tabb (Whoever is fit enough)
Kebe, McAnuff
Guthrie
Pog

Apparently from McDermott we are close to signing a player... Hopefully it is an attacking midfielder who isn't a premier league has been.

Funny how Leigertwood has "picked up a knock" all of a sudden

I wonder what damages a player's morale more - being told you've been dropped or being told you've got an injury so can't play?

Surprised so many people think Harte will be dropped for Shorey. I know I picked Shorey, but I don't expect that team for a second.

Z175 Why does everyone pick Guthrie? What's he ever done for us?!

Put as in the lead against Chelsea

To be completely fair though, Cech put us in the lead.

Guthrie was our MotM though.

No he's had more than one good game, I was simply pointing out something relevant to the comments about the CHelsea game, not justifying why people are picking him. Which is because he's our only midfielder with the attributes to improve us in a way we desperately need, if he plays well.

I think Guthrie's done alright since coming back. Not set the world alight, but his passing is better than anybody elses and at least he's looking for the opening.

The more games he gets, the better he'll get imo.

Just read an article on ssn saying that they are both set to feature. Not too sure as to what extent they meant by that.

A lot of people are saying keep it tight which I agree with but on the other hand with a good chance Olsson and Mulumbu probably 2 of their best players have a high chance of missing out, they are potentially there for the taking if we can keep Long/Lukaku quiet. Brunt's supply needs to stopped too.

No McCleary at all?

I'd go with that starting XI.

Feds; Kelly, Pearce, Mariappa, Shorey; Kebe, Karacan, Caricco, Guthrie, McAnuff; Pogrebnyak

probably harsh on Alfie and McCleary but life isn't fair
