Interesting that we're not interested in Adkins, presumably have something else lined up

Be patient guys, our first choice turned us down, we'll have a second choice...we just don't want Adkins

The money's there so the role will attract someone.

For me...it's Ole Gunnar time.

Friday's Legacy What a farce this has become. The two best managers linked with us that are realistic, are both out of the running. What are we saying to these people? What a mess!

Really don't think Poyet was realistic TBH.

People need to chill out. I suspect Dolan til end of the season & then reassess in the summer.

What's the cunting point in sacking McDermott in the first place?

Have we gone stark bollocking mad?

scumbag Oh god, this is diabolical.

We have literally done a Wolves.

Why? We are down regardless. Why not have maximum time to get the right person in? Everyone would have moaned if he was searching behind BM's back. Damned either way.

I'm more excited about the coming season than I was 2 weeks ago. Chillax everyone!

Ideal
winchester_royal For me...it's Ole Gunnar time.

Would be a brilliant choice, one of the most promising young managers, his team plays wonderful attacking football and scores goals, but the problem is he has already turned down Aston Villa, would he want to join us at all?

Villa are a big club - there'd be less expectations on him in Berkshire?

If we can't get the right guy now though then I'm happy with Eamo. The worst thing we could do is panic and bring in a guy who isn't right.

Mirror story on Poyet

Gus pass: Poyet rejects the Reading job.. after vowing he could keep them up

21 Mar 2013 22:30
Brighton manager chooses not to swap chasing promotion to the Premier League for an eight-game fight against relegation from it

Pier pressure: Reading target Poyet is to stay at Brighton
Gus Poyet has turned down the Reading job after a day of drama and negotiations with the Premier League strugglers.

Brighton manager Poyet had a meeting with Royals bigwigs on Wednesday and asked for 24 hours to think about the move.

Lowly Reading were convinced the Uruguayan would say ‘yes’, but did keep a couple of other options open so another man could step in if Poyet turned them down.

But, after talks involving all parties went on late into the evening, promotion-chasing Brighton eventually learned that their popular boss would be staying with them.

Poyet has Brighton poised just outside the Championship's play-off places but was worried he'd taken them as far as he could.

And insiders revealed he has been chasing players this season that the club could not afford.

Reading were offering Poyet a bigger budget than the south-coast club, even if they fail to beat the odds and go down - the Royals think they can bounce straight back into the top flight with the right man.

Poyet told Reading - seven points from safety with eight games to go - during his interview that he thought he could keep them up, but has chosen not to seize his chance to prove it.

The Royals sacked Brian McDermott last week, just 33 days after he was named the Prem's Manager of the Month and less than a year after he had steered them to promotion.

Sounds like he fcked us over a bit tbh. Good riddance.

No, I agree. But Adkins has a fantastic record for that level, and we will be at that level next season. Adkins will almost certainly end up at Leeds now, another rival for promotion next season. It's still early days I suppose. Arsenal is a nailed on defeat, therefore we may as well take our time and get this appointment right, but it's not the most convincing of starts.

Seeing the likes of Howe, Parkinson, Dolan and Freedman is very uninspiring.

But pretty much 99% of what we're reading is pure speculation. None of us know & I certainly wouldn't use Fordham or the Mirror as my sources of info!
