What's the story with ALF & Adkins?

by Royal Bahamas » 05 Apr 2013 04:48

It appears that Adkins has put ALF back into the 'Super Sub' status. However he doesn't appear to want to use him. Is there more to this than we know?

windermere_royal He`s only been here one game.

....and didn't use him at a time when we know he has scored the majority of his goals this season. You'ld think that Adkins would want to make use of all his known assets, at the most opportune time.
With ALF on after the fabled 65th minute, a 3- 3 score would not have been out of the question.

Way too early to make something of this. I think it was more a case of we were never in the Arsenal game. Let's see what happens against the Saints.

The Arsenal game was where we needed a player who gets stuck in. Le Fondre for that scenario would of had no impact on the game.

I hate Hunt and think he's useless but he does provide bite we need in the last 20mins of games. If he's got a future at this club that should be his role 20mins to defend from the front. Like the West Ham match.

Maybe he realised ALF is so overrated it hurts?

Ridiculous thread!

We stayed 4-5-1 for the whole game, presumably because Adkins felt the match was over and there was no point being even more comprehensively outplayed than we already were. So we could only bring 1 striker on and presumably Adkins felt Hunt was more suited to the lone striker role (not unreasonably.) It's only been 1 game!

Apparently Big Nige has already fallen out with the 11 players from the 25 man squad that weren't involved last week. His relationship with the players not in the 25 and at all youth levels that also weren't involved is said to be toxic.

Apparently Adkins has seduced ALF's Northern soon-to-be missus in the week he has been at the club. ALF confronted the bespectacled manager who told him, "I'm the bleedin' gaffer, I can pork who I want!" ALF was understandably livid, not just at Adkins' choice of expression, but said he was going to be a professional and play. Adkins called him a "Little bitch" and said he would "keep him in his place" so spent the whole of the Arsenal match telling him he was about to bring him on before changing his mind, saying "Psyche!" and similar.

And that's my story with ALF and Adkins.

Agree with the original poster. This feud between Adkins and ALF has gone on far too long.
