I guess Adkins knows that we are good at the last ten minutes when 2 goals down.....

We are playing at team only slightly stronger than us at home. I'd expect us to play better (i.e. like Sunderland)

Can't draw any conclusions

Feds totally bottled that.... but it was over the top from Rodriguez. Anywhere else on the pitch and he may have been booked.

Fair one.
We do look like we have more energy and more possession.
Still fragile at the back.....

One commentator says that if the challenge for the goal is in the middle of the park it would be given as a foul for the studs up challenge.
Again, see his point, but it's all a bit irrelevevant.

We need to regain our cmposure and get back to the first twenty minutes.

Watching this I realise how much of the blame has to go to McDermott for what's happened this season, failing to buy the right players, lacking a plan B and looking to HOOF.

When we've gone 1 down our confidence has drained and we've gone back to the way we played under McD, out default, hoof.

Really depressing season.

Half time re-group.

Saints getting right on top the last ten minutes.

We're trying to play football, would rather we stick with this than the ugly, hopeful stuff we've been playing. In fairness to McD he had a different pressure to stay in the Prem but give me this any day. Will take time for the players to adapt and we could be on the end of a few tankings as we develop but got to start preparing for the future. Will also help to see where we're short on quality more easily.

Guthrie was unbelievably good for the first half hour, Gunter and Kelly have been pretty awful and I cant remember Akpan doing anything.

Overall pretty good. Guthrie looking good. Karacan looking bad. Akpan and McAnuff not really in the game. Signs for optimism.

Reading playing MUCH better football (than before). Really happy so far.

Not a penalty.

Guthrie, much as I dislike him, doing well.

I thought we'd be missing Legs but I don't think we are.

Their goal- cant be harsh on Morrison or Feds, I think they both confused each other thinking the other would clear it. Just bad luck.

Gut feeling: we can win this.

We were pressing really well in the first 30 minutes, then they got a bit tired.

Southampton were always going to have chances, it was all about how Reading responded when they did.

As we're a relegation haunted team the confidence has just drained out of the side as Saints were attacking and, instead of reimposing ourselves onto the game, we've let them get the upper hand and the goal has inevitably come.

I think that Karacan is not going to have a future at Reading unless he learns to get the ball down on the floor and pass, play through balls.

Positives imho HRK who has had a good season and knows how to put pressure on opposing defenders without stupidly giving up the ball.

Guthrie has also been very good.

Wonder what Adkins will do in the second half?

This game is made for Pog - we're getting the ball forward much better but Alfie isn't strong enough to hold on to it

Personally i would take off Karacan and bring Pog on and put him up with Alf
