Our support yesterday!

by LoyalRoyalFan » 05 May 2013 12:29

We often get criticised for our support, but yesterday it was a great following!

Nearly 2,000 fans travelled to support an already relegated team, at the cost of £40 for most, and were rewarded for a great atmosphere with a fantastic performance.

We could do a Wolves and constantly throw abuse at our players, invade the pitch and generally be utter pcunts, but fair play to our support yesterday, it was a great day out.

A massive +1 to this.

Also, at least where I was stood, a big thumbs up to the stewards who let us harmlessly stand and sing and were rewarded with us giving them no trouble.

Funny the policy in other sections.
When a supporter quipped that others were standing the reply was 'not my section so I'm not concerned about them standing'

Was stood at the front of the little standing group in the middle of our fans, found the stewards to be the most unfriendly I've encountered since the West Brom FA Cup encounter a few years back.

Great support though, that every away game please!

Steward in the left block just said "Please can you sit down".

"No"

"Please sit down"

"No".

*shrug*

And that was it.

Sat in P2 of the Putney, Fulham fans around the boy & I were awfully complementary of our noise, aparently more so than when Liverpool visited.

Such middle class support. Bravo all.

I felt we didn't have a massive following there, really don't like the neutral bit. But for what we took we made a fair bit of noise.

There was 1 verse of ''brian mcdermott.... brian mcdermott'' (same chune as alex mcarthys song)

but it fizzled out on the 4th brian mcdermott

overall a great atmosphere, great game for all reading fans, nearly as good as the 4-3 at forrest

Every time I've been to away games, our support has been pretty good -> brilliant. It's a shame we don't have the same kind of atmosphere at the Mad stad every game.

If stewards at home games allow us to stand without kicking up a fuss that would help. They have been pretty good this season but I fear next season they will revert to usual policy

Also love the Pardew chant.

"There's only one Alan Pardew, one Alan Pardew, with a bag of sweets and a cheeky smile, Pardew is a oxf*rd paedophile."
