floyd__streete One of my fondest childhood memories must be infant school assembly before breaking up for Christmas each year. We used to sing some generic Christmas carols before being told to close our eyes tight (ruh-oh) and listen out for the jingle of bells which became louder and louder and suddenly before us appeared Santa bearing gifts (usually a dot-to-dot book with some cheap felt tip pens). Perhaps if we all concentrate, close our eyes and whistle the Van der Valk theme tune then a souped-up Subaru will crash through the window of the megastore and out will step Royston Drenthe wearing a Pelada training top.

love it Floyd

tick tock tick tock... looking rather like those two lasses in the Everton training ground may have been a mistake.

Another day passes - another day without any official word

Anyone else not think this is weird - especially as it was supposedly sorted out on Tuesday!?

So is this now officially a saga? If it goes on beyond tomorrow does it become a super saga? Wish the club would actually say something. Surely they have another signing to announce on Friday too then? Perhaps Pearce is renewing? Must be something
more exciting? We can take this thread on another 10 pages! Let's do it!

We're just repeating ourselves now. Everything points to the club wanting to make an announcement tomorrow with another signing, very little else makes any sense. If that other deal goes ahead or not, we must surely hear something concrete from the club tomorrow. If it goes into next week then even if nothing is wrong, it's an absolute shambles from the football club when all they needed to do was release a few words confirming the signing, and more details will be released later...

Why would someone have a medical in the new club's colours - what if they don't pass and surely they don't wear much when having a medical in any case. Drenthe's agent was just stirring up trouble when he spoke out of turn - one of the conditions of the contract should have been not to speak to the media (or anyone else publicly) before the club announced any signing. IF he still signs, Adkins will have his work cut out controlling Drenthe and his agent. But having said that, even if the agent and player leaked the news first, shirley, by now, the club will have acquiesced and announced it themselves. Why wait to announce two signings - both signing should be given their bit of time in the limelight. IF there's two signings that it. If nothing is announced tomorrow, this will have escalated into a full-blown SHAMBLES of which the people of AE would be proud to be associated with.

He hasn't removed it, and when they tell players to remove stuff, they do it pretty hastily.

Reckon they've prolly been on the end of another deal all week, and they're hoping they can get it done so they can announce the two'a them. They've gotta say something on Drenthe soon though, surely.

Would imagine they've allowed Royston to 'leak' the completion of the deal slightly to keep us anoraks reasonably calm while they try and arrange a nice big PR stunt for the end of the week.
