I always thought Mackie was a decent player but was never given a massive chance at QPR. Would like us to sign him more than Austin or Hooper to be honest.

Their bid of 1.5m was turned down.

I would like to see us enter the race as, IMO, he is a better player than Sharp and Austin and plays the lone striker role well.

sad for QPR fans i'm sure. Seemed like one of the few that gave a toss. Given Hooper bid fell through Harry might want to keep him though?

I'm well up for it, always admired him

Good player but no better than ALF. In fact ALF's scoring rate is much better. No loss that we did not go for him.

I'd like him but I'm sure I read somewhere that he's going to Forest.

Is a player I would have liked to have seen at Reading, but I am not sure if we aren't now overloaded in the position he plays. Having said that, I am not sure if this is a smart move by QPR. Up to Harry taking over Mackie was one of the players from their Championship side that was consistently brought back into the side to replace 'better' ' quality' players that were found not to be up to the job. Irrespective of how dire Rangers were at times the last two seasons, they always had a strong spine of Nelsen, Derry and Mackie. Nelsen has gone (replaced by Richard Dunne), Derry is over the hill and Mackie has now gone. Not really sure if Harry has moved them forward as a squad. Still an awful lot of deadwood there.

He reminds me of Murty.

No necked runner, limited talent

I'd like to think we're aiming a little higher, but Mackie would certainly fit the 'Reading Way'. Honest hardworker with a decent record.

I like him. and I'd be happy with us signing him.

I'd be happy if we tried a bit harder at the minute, let alone aim.

Though it looks like we're waiting to offload the Pog before moving into the market.
