Yeah but they were once FA Cup finalists over 30 years ago and won the Charity shield over 100 years ago. That's way bigger than having won the second tier twice, won the Simod Cup, hold the league points record and the league best start record.

It's not like they've only finished above us three / four times in 20 years and average almost an entire division of places below us in that time.

It's great to see them having got through their nadir of playing at an athletics track (or whatever it was) and repeatedly nearly falling out the league. It's nice to see them in a big shiny new plastic stadium and doing well in the Championship. But really, the attitude they bring with it is very unbecoming and wins them no friends.

They're marginally bigger and more successful than us over the last two / three seasons, at the point we slumped from our heights, but they've got some going to overtake those heights, we're now stabilising and recovering and they're starting to level out.

I just remember all that absolutely hilarity and complete meltdown on their board when MBoro dicked them in the last game last season..... and how even though the borough player got wiped out and had blood all over his leg from a clear dangeroud high tackle, he dived into the man and faked his injury and got their CB sent off according to them. Yeah, but yeah, but yeah, but, yeah but, yeah but, yeah they've got a good away following so they're bigger than Real Madrid, innit!

The 'rivalry' between Brighton and Reading fans.....as middle-class and trifling as a tiff between Margo and Jerry Leadbetter in the Good Life. :|

Looks like one Brighton fan on NSC has Norwood figured out

Machiavelli Norwood really hasn't done much here. I really like the way that he strokes the ball around, but it's all from so deep, and devoid of ambition. He doesn't seem terribly mobile either, and have been unimpressed thus far with his set-pieces.

Brighton fans are extremely childish.

They also have a unhealthy, obsessive hatred of Bournemouth. If an identical club to Bournemouth was a the middle of Yorkshire they wouldn't care but because they have such a childish mind set and Bournemouth are on the South coast they despise them. We are nearer to Bournemouth but I really couldn't care a less about them.

They (Bournemouth) certainly used to care a lot about us. Whether it's the same since their PL rise is a different matter.

Let's be honest, we really couldn't give a shit for Brighton. Good luck to them. Nice new stadium, decent manager, some decent players but their fans are just desperate and the majority are still two bob with lower league mentality. That aside they're a decent little club on the south coast.

Annoyingly that's what's happened.

At first we were confused by their hatred and weird obsession with us.

Then we found it hilarious.

Then it got a bit tedious.

Now we still find it a bit weird, hilarious and tedious, but we've begun to hate them.

They've created an internet flame war that's spilled into real life and will last for decades.

Yeah this. They've put so much effort into it it's hard to just shrug your shoulders and ignore. A bit like Kes really.

it's all football's fault. The same thing happened with Wolves a couple of years ago (although Wolves are undoubtedly a bigger club than us). We have played BHA loads and loads of times over the past 15 (?) seasons, often challenging with each other for promotion/play-offs. There have also been cup matches in recent seasons. In a survey a couple of years ago we were in the top three team hated by Wolves (between WBA and Norwich), for similar reasons- and we are still playing them year in, year out. Wolves get far more animosity and pisstakes/glee at their misfortunes on here than Sheff Weds, Brum or Forest, say.

There is absolutely no real, deep rivalry between us and Wolves or BHA and it will all die down when we drift apart, in whichever direction that will be.

Has shades of West Ham beef circa 11/12.

Difference is one is big club with a large fan base and successful long history, the other is West Ham.

yep, similar happened with West Ham for a couple of years, definitely. We're not on their radar now.

Nor should we be. They're too busy shipping 4 goals a game and fighting with each other.
