Hound Think Watford will go back up. Too much talent in there and solid at the back. I do think all relegated teams this year look handy, though Norwich looked pretty dire against Derby today

Too early to say of course but I would expect Bournemouth and Watford to be top six.

Not so sure about Norwich, they haven’t looked too impressive so far but that could change. Wouldn’t be surprised if Norwich are one of those teams who flirt with the playoffs but fail to finish top six.

Derby were pretty lucky mind you, had Pukki not slipped and scored the penalty it could have been very different. Both Norwich and Derby were pretty average.

PistolPete I often find opponents fans bftg threads interesting so maybe we can put some of the best bits from all our games here:

BOLTON AWAY

All from http://www.the-wanderer.co.uk/boards/

Drenthe is a disgrace to the game. How he was in a Real Madrid side I will never know. Would make the swimming team though because he is a cracking diver.

At other times it looked like we were watching them play in our half. This was largely forced upon us by their excellent approach play, but we had chances to use the ball and just seemed scared, and they got the initiative back.

Overall we deserved no more than a point. However Reading should be happy with just one given that they only scored from a pen and we still had chances.
Plus points were the defending and how we conceded few real chances despite being outplayed

On the negative side they absolutely ran rings round us and we looked like an away sidefor long periods

3points Loved the comment blaming our pitch

I know, four games in to the season and no rugby. it also gives the impression that we were playing Barcelona and we play football like a Reading Sunday league Division Five West side who’ve been on a Stag do the night before (the latter I have first hand experience of).

I particularly enjoyed this, on a different thread.

Even today we battered Reading. A goal against the run of play and they stick 10 men behind the ball, dive and cheat their way to victory. Ugly but that’s what crap teams like Reading do.

Didn’t realise we were playing Barcelona-esque, footballing power house in Watford. Looks like a few years getting trounced by big teams has made them think they’re not the small, nothing, not-really-london club they are. Much like the “crap” Reading who beat them yesterday. Deluded or what.

Yep, our pitch wasn’t slick at all. Very dry and sticky which is why several players slipped over. You cant make it up

LOL

Always amazed how many people can’t remain objective after their team lose. This goes for all teams.

That is a weird comment from them. It was a very even game with both teams creating good chances. The Olise chance was completely forgotten too. He was very close to a screamer. As close as any of their chances were.

Michael Brown’s comments were odd imo. He seemed to think we were the better side in the first half and Watford superior in the second. I had it the other way around and was surprised at how little Watford created in the latter stages of the game.

Think youre probably right. Although it was, imo, only a minor difference between the halves. Watford looked strong until they went briefly down to 10 men. Then it was all us. We took the advantage and ran away with it.

Honestly I'm on such a high right now. We would have capitulated last year and the year before. I really hope it is Pauno who is making the difference.

No idea what planet that poster is on thinking Watford battered us. if that's them battering a team they could be in trouble this year.

Actually thought Watford looked poor - not particularly solid at the back and zero cutting edge. Obviously worked on our RB situation but that was the only real joy they had. Think the 3 teams that have come down this year are probably the weakest I can ever remember and with Leeds, Fulham and West Brom gone who are always around the top, think the Championship is there for the taking this year.

O the reason they were shit today was because they were missing a couple of their creative players, whereas we were just rubbish.

I wonder whether they were missing their creative players in the first three games too!

Yes, because they sold them all.

What a shame! Seems so unfair that teams relegated from the PL aren't able to keep all of their PL stars and instead are expected to compete with Championship type squads! The fact they were bemoaning their missing creative players after today's game would suggest that we were nowhere near as rubbish as they would like to make out.

Think its a combination a Porno and Laurent/Rino in the middle actually giving us a solid midfield for the first time in years.

If I'm reading it correctly, one poster on their forum reckons match stats are irrelevant as they have a much better squad on paper than many other Championship clubs including Reading.

Clearly hasn't been paying much attention to our performances, results and positions over the past few seasons. If (s)he had, they would've known paper counts for nothing!

I think some of our fans might be in for a nasty shock if they think the league is going to be easy.

In 4 games we have had 2 goals and not many shots on target.

Now that might change if a couple of key players come back and do well but I certainly don't think you were rubbish and trying to cheat or whatever.

As ever there is a right old miss on there and stuff like Twitter.

Half think we will up there and other who don't.

It’s odd, I believe Ivic has sidelined the likes of Deulofeu and Gray presumably because they want to sell them while Deeney has a slight lingering injury. That said Sarr is currently heavily linked with Villa and ManU yet he has played the last couple of games.

Borne out by yesterday’s stats. Watford had 2 shots on target while Reading had 4. Watford’s squad as it currently stands, IMO, is probably the best in the league but Ivic doesn’t seem to be using all the options available, now that might actually be because of injuries but if it isn’t then I would suggest there are issues behind the scenes which will make it harder for Watford over the course of the season.

Gray, Deeney and Hughes are injured but are probably going to still be here.

So is Deluofeu but he wants out anyway like Capoue although again with the transfer window closing seems no move is likely.

The club want Sarr to stay and we probably played him to show that - his performance yesterday was more akin to someone worth 500k rather than the 50 million we want!

Certainly performed as if he wasn't that interested have to say.

I can understand, though not condone the sense of entitlement that supporters of some 'big' clubs display. However effective they have been in the last few years, Watford are not footballing giants and are less successful at this level than Reading. It wasn't that long ago that we were rivals in Division 3 FFS

I may not know their history properly, but certainly since I've been switched on to football and Reading, Watford haven't been a bigger club than us, or, arguably more successful.

So I'm not sure where their sense of entitlement comes from? We're very similar clubs!

Looked at their historical record and Watford could definitely argue they are bigger due to more seasons in the top flight but like us they haven't won anything that matters. That said they did finish as top flight runners-up once and have 2 FA Cup Final appearances.
