Not surprising. There's an effort in Oman to have them inducted into the Championship next year. They think playing in Asia is holding them back. Apparently the Football League are receptive to the idea because there's a big untapped tv market there.

I think we should be pretty ashamed to be involved in dodgy shenanigans like this, to be honest. It would never have happened under Madejski, but you sell the club and this is what you get.

Already made plans for that day but not entirely sure I would bother going anyway. Can't imagine there'll be a crowd of more than about 5000.

Article tries to claim that the first team will be playing, I doubt that. Fair few will be on international duty but imagine Nigel will put the reserves out anyway.

All in all, I don't imagine this will be a too exciting affair!

Holy oxf*rd! What?!? But they're a bloody national team, they can't play in our leagues! Their goalkeeper plays for Wigan - how would this even work?
And would we end up with Tuesday night Oman away?? That's hardly practical!!
And how can playing in Asia hold them back? They're not that good! When did they last qualify for a world cup??

Which makes them better than England based on most recent results against the 'Socceroos'

So I guess you're going?!

Only 4999 of the predicted attendance to go! :D

Anyone else?

No way.

I'd advise everyone to boycott this fixture if you actually care about the future of the Football League.

It's something different and is obviously part of the wider strategy to promote the club outside of Berkshire. As long as nobody gets injured, there aren't really any negatives associated with this for me.

I saw George Best play for us against New Zealand.

Maybe Zidane could turn out for this one.
