Yep poor show. Been better recently

Apparently Fulham had 20m Alfie Mawson start tonight. Bit of a shitshow for them

Pretty decent performance . House lacked sharp, Baldock looks ready to play first team football, defence solid. House and Frost both took their goals very well. Kebano was lively but rarely in places that hurt us, Fulham created nothing apart from some long range efforts straight at Jaakola

House lacked sharpness? Or House looked sharp?

Important win for us.

Looked sharp !

His goal came when he told Howe where he wanted the ball, made a run which Howe saw and made a good pass, House finished very nicely.

I know we are no longer in the comp but someone might be interested in the Premier league 2 cup semi-final draw.(thinking about it - probably not !!!!)
Swansea v winners of Everton v Blackburn
Leeds v Newcastle
ties to be played between 30th April and 10th May

With Newcastle almost certainly in the Premier league 2 div 2 play-offs (with the Royals) it could be a late end to the season for the U23`s

House's loan looks to have done him good.

The back six did really well last night. McIntyre, Osho, and Holmes were a real wall. Aside from a couple of times when Neeskens Kabano turned Holmes around a bit, they didn't let Fulham have any real chances, and they also looked assured on the ball. Jaakola was dominant and pulled off one excellent save. Howe is also really coming along, his pace helps him make tackles that other people can't.

Coleman is a mini Joey van der Berg, good passing range but overshadowed by the fact that he's a roughhouser who is going to get in a lot of trouble with referees. Holsgrove thrived on the security that the back line gave him, he did come deep to get the ball but he didn't need to do any real defensive work. He has the best first touch of anyone at the club and played some really good passes, the best of which was the one which won us the penalty. Olise didn't seem to really know what he was supposed to be doing in the system and was quite quiet, although he did play one stunning pass just "round the corner" for Howe to run onto (it didn't come off but it was very inventive).

House is like if Shane Long had a proper footballing upbringing. Barrels around everywhere and put some great tackles in. His movement has improved while he was out on loan and he's also more vocal. Baldock complemented him well. They're both pretty small but their movement made them dangerous on the counter attack and they worked hard enough to make their presences felt.

Frost must be wondering what he has to do to get some regular starts! Rollinson and Liddle didn't have very long and Liddle in particular is very young, but Rollinson played Liddle in with his first touch and Liddle should then have scored with his first touch - think the keeper saved quite well.

Generally Fulham's keeper was terrible and we should have had five goals. At one point the ball got trapped under his feet, Baldock tackled him and hit the post. Another time Mawson played a loose ball back to him and again we should have scored but the shot was just off target. Aside from Kabano, Fulham's best player was probably this giant centre back, Jerome Opoku, although he was at fault for the second goal when he went wandering up the pitch and left a big space for us to counter into.

Yup. Thanks to SCIAG , Royals & Racers and others for their regular updates on this and other threads especially since it seems the club can only sporadically be arsed.

The U23s could be seviourly weaken in a few years then. the current young crop dont seem to be up to much.

Not sure I agree with that. The majority of the U18s are 15 and 16. Compared to previous seasons where they've been 1 or 2 years older playing the U18s. I also don't expect a lot of the U18s to be playing in the U23s next season. They still have another year or 2 to play for the U18s unless there are some really good players that are ready.

Monday morning and still no report on the RFC website of Friday’s U23’s win at Fulham. They give the correct score 3-0 on the fixtures page however the match page says it finished 0-0 !!!
All in all a pretty pathetic effort by the club !!!
