So, what's the Hob Nob low down on Abraham Kanu (Academy player of the Season) then?

PATRIQT
Hound Nice to see Noel actually interacting on Twitter and asking fans to come to the u23 game

One up on the club who didn't even acknowledge the last U23 result on the evening of the game.

Understandable with the game played Sunday lunchtime and of course the media team don`t work on Sunday`s :D - apart from the Women`s media chap who does an excellent job.

Press ganged.

He was in Reading on holiday and one dark night decided to take a shortcut down Smelly Alley. Next minute - "Thwack!" over the head. Bowen and Carey dragged him back to Bearwood where they now keep him permanently chained up.

I heard it was a wheel of cheese on a hook. They lobbed it down a hill, he chased after it and they reeled him in. He's currently thrashing about in a keep net at Goals Woodley.

How successful has Cheltenham's academy been in the last few years?

Well they're Category 3 so working with a fraction of the resources of our academy, but they've done reasonably well in the Youth Cup, had a few players make first team appearances, and Felix Miles won League 2 Apprentice of the Year last year.

Instead of 14 teams in PL 2 Div 2 in the 2022/23 season there will only be 12 as both Burnley and Birmingham have apparently lost Cat 1 status.

Was reading their new managers interview on BBC Sport the other day and it looks like Burnley are in a real mess with zero funds and not many players to work with either.
Someone posted a few weeks back that they may even be a bet for relegation this season and i laughed my arse off!! This actually might be closer to the truth after all.

In addition to the above Birmingham have also lost category 1 status and therefore PL2 will have 12 instead of 14 clubs next season.

The academy is the one thing we can plough money into without it impacting FFP so it makes sense to keep doing so.
