YorkshireRoyal99 Just out of interest, how many goals has Kelvin E got for the U21's this season? he did get a goal in the EFL Cup against Stevenage as well, so it might be that he's relatively close to the first team. You've got to be thinking that he is going to be somewhere near in the next 12 months.

Always good to be scoring, but at that level I don't think it's a great sign for progression to first team. We've had plenty of Academy plYers banging them away and not look close in the FT.

He has looked promising when he's played higher though. And that's the main thing for me.

Not at face value no but obviously it's a player-by-player basis really. Maybe he could use a spell for the second half of the season somewhere in the lower depths of the FL. Has done ok for us in the few appearances he's had and obviously scored vs Stevenage, so maybe a second half loan in L2 would do him some good.

That free kick was unreal! Superb! We have our new Swift/Caskey

Seem to remember Liam Kelly doing something similar, what happened to him?

Jaap Stam's atrocious man management.

Rochdale I think

Tbf pleased he has knuckled down and got himself a career in football even at a lower level. Decent player but from the outside looked like it went to his head

Must be one of the biggest drop offs we've had at our club this century? To go from Reading, to Feyenoord, to Oxford and now Rochdale? It's very feasible he could have gone from a European player to a Non-League footballer in the space of a few years.

After playing for them at youth level, in March 2017 he bizarrely rejected the call to represent Ireland at full level as well.

Good luck to him though, he is only 27 so hope he shines enough at Rochdale to be able to stay in the league if they get relegated this season.

Royals and Racers PL Cup Group H
1 Reading P 6 points 9
2 Wolves P 4 pts 9
3 Cardiff P 4 points 6
4 Sunderland P 4 points 3
Royals i suppose still have a small chance of finishing in top 2- remaining fixtures
Wolves Sunderland A Cardiff H
Cardiff Wolves A
Sunderland Wolves H

Result Cardiff 2 Sunderland 0
Table
1 Reading P 6 points 9 GD 9-6
2 Cardiff P 5 points 9 GD 5-2
3 Wolves P 4 points 9 GD 4-4
4 Sunderland P 5 points 3 GD 3-9
If Cardiff lose at Wolves we would qualify for last 16.

Didn't he turn down playing for Ireland, in order to play for England? That was eyebrow raising even at the time.

Youngster John Clarke is out for the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.

This is probably the right thread to record that a Reading team lost 4-2 to West Ham Under-21s on Friday at Bearwood. Seems an odd day to have chosen.

Team included Jahmari Clarke, Liam Moore and Nahum Melvin-Lambert.

Looks like Monday's U21 game v Colchester has been moved. Colchester are playing a different (cup?) fixture on Tuesday of next week, whilst flashscore now shows our game as set for 27 April.

Thanks for that- Colxhester are playing a re-arranged PL cup match. Thursday April 27th as you say is the new date.
It`s a shame that the club remove the fixture but don`t tell anyone.

Information posted on the website says that the U21’s played a friendly against an Aldershot Town X1 last week and despite going a goal behind ended with a 8-1 victory.
