From Despair To Where? The academy is the one thing we can plough money into without it impacting FFP so it makes sense to keep doing so.

You can offset infrastructure costs as well. Maybe we should build a new stadium !

Why stop at 1? Just don't get Mel Morris to cost it.

PL2 has moved back to being U21 for the coming season, although allowed 5 overage outfield players + keeper so cant see that it makes any meaningful difference.

Yep all good. Craig might be an interesting players, seems to be fairly well rated

Ideally want to see Clarke and Camara sign up most of all - still waiting on that

Lots more u23 signed up, inc Camara (yay)

No Clarke yet, though he has been away

Looks like only 1 year deals though unless I’ve misread

Agreed, I was concerned we’d see a mass exodus of the good youngsters.
I think Noel Hunt has been an inspired appointment, he looks to be revitalising the U23 set up and a real good guy to have working at that level.

Provided we actually sign some first team players, they should be a bit more competitive in PL2 this season

Interesting* that they've made a point of saying they've signed for the U23s.

Great news on Camara, he looked ready to play a part

PL2 will be an u21 competition from this season.
Don’t think it really affects us much, especially as you’ll be able to field 5 overage players !

That’s 5 overage outfield players plus an overage goalkeeper as well.

Hopefully a bit of involvement for these younger players this season might do them good for next season onwards, it's going to be a tough season to introduce the players though I reckon.

Good info on the OS today covering the Holzman and Cooper clans. Apprently Alan Cooper (played for Reading 1969-72) is Louie Holzman’s grandad and Jake Cooper is his uncle. And then there’s Gary, Steve and Mark Holzman…

https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2022/j ... r-holzman/

Anyone old enough to recall seeing them all play for Reading (or other clubs)?

I remember Mark Holzman breaking his leg against Slough in the cup.

So Ashcroft gone to Spurs and sounds like Samuels might be off as well. Shame
