The Reading FC owner and his model wife have kicked off the new football season with the arrival of their first child.

The club has confirmed that the Russian tycoon and his 23-year-old wife, Katsia Zingarevich, welcomed a baby girl into the world last week.

However, they remain tight lipped about the baby's name, weight and birthday.

Anton Zingarevich, 30, bought Reading FC last January for £25 million.

The young couple - who married in late 2009 after meeting two years earlier - have returned to Russia to settle into their new role as parents.

Despite being only 23, Katsia, from Minsk, the capital of Belarus, has already had an extremely successful career as a model.

At just 17 she earned the title of Ford’s Supermodel of the World in 2006, and in 2010 she was signed as one of the new faces of Victoria’s Secret lingerie.

Congrats Anton and Katsia.

You should call the child Jimmy, after Reading's best football player ever!

Hmm returned to Russia to settle into their new role as parents - taking the baby with them, or was baby born here? Either way, he's not going to be around for a while.....

She's replacing one of the starting XI from Tuesday at Huish Park.

BABY PANIC!? Anton having a baby - the effect on the team

by The Rouge » 29 Aug 2013 12:03

Those I know who have had children, swear that the event alters their whole outlook to life and starts to affect all their motivation and decisions.

Now Anton is the man that steers he club and makes most of the crucial decisions. I can't help but think this life event will have a dramatic effect on our beloved team.

It may lead to him spending more time away from the club.. ? He may lose some interest in RFC and football in general.. He may also be in such a happy place that he is unable to make the ruthless decisions that need to be made? Alternatively, lack of sleep could lead to some knee-jerk impatient decisions to the detriment of the good ship RFC. In the early days, maybe he will start to favour bald players? Or maybe soften him towards the return of Brian McDermott? ..and later he may favour players who will be a good role model to his new child.

Ladies and gentleman, in this uncertain time, I am worried. I hate to throw around the word 'irresponsible', so I wont. Surely this will affect things!?!? How can it not? Think about it, think about it. Just think.
